HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: North Quincy boys basketball edges Pembroke as coach hits milestone

North Quincy's Kevin Barrett became the boys basketball program's all-time leader in coaching wins on Friday night, passing John Mullarkey, as his Raiders edged Pembroke, 60-59, at home. Barrett has 179 wins over 17 seasons.

Senior guard Zach Taylor (23 points, 7 rebounds) made two free throws with 7.5 seconds left to ice the victory for the Raiders (6-1, 5-0 Patriot League).

NQ overcame an 11-point halftime deficit by starting the third quarter with a 12-0 run. The Raiders limited the Titans to 28 percent shooting from the floor in the second half.

Senior guard Nate Caldwell had a career-high 16 points, including four 3-pointers, for NQ, and Dylan Clifford (11 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks) and Kobe Nguyen (8 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists) also starred.

Pembroke's Brady Spencer had 32 points and 16 rebounds, and Tom Halloran (12 points) and Joe Dwyer (11 points) also contributed.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Weymouth 75, Milton 57: Gill Dolan scored 19 points for Weymouth in the Bay State Conference home win. Edric Louissaint (18 points) and Cam Nordstrom (10 points, 10 rebounds) also starred. Will Renz scored 16 points for Milton, and Roddy Tobin added 12.

South Shore Tech 68, South Shore Christian 35: Jesse Lyons (Rockland) had 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Brandon LaFleur (Abington) added 13 points and 8 assists to lead the Vikings (2-4) to a non-league road win. Todd Egan (Hanson) had 10 points.

Archbishop Williams 73, Bishop Feehan 58: Senior Josh Campbell scored 36 points, and junior Tristan Rodrigues added 15 while playing strong defense as Archies (7-0, 3-0) won a Catholic Central League road game. Senior guards Charlie Conners and Jack Solomon were defensive standouts as well.

Cardinal Spellman 61, Bishop Fenwick 44: Jaydan Exalus had 20 points and 6 rebounds to lead the Cardinals (6-1). D'Anthony Amado added 6 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists.

Plymouth South 47, Hanover 46: Junior Justin LaChance (game-high 21 points) hit the winning basket with 1.3 seconds remaining as the visiting Panthers edged the Hawks in Patriot League action. Senior Jaime Andrews had a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds, and Shea Jacobson, Al Marzullo and Noah Brilliant all played well.

Duxbury 52, Plymouth North 51: Tate Fiedler scored 14 points, and Andrew Curley added 12 as the Dragons rallied to win a Patriot League home game. Nick Marcel led North (3-4, 2-3) with 16 points, and Sean King had 10.

Whitman-Hanson 80, Hingham 63: Sophomore Ryan Baker (25 points, 10 rebounds) and senior captain Drew Daley (16 points) led the Panthers (5-2, 4-1) to a Patriot League road win. Freshman Isaiah Bean-Britain added 10 points, and junior Evan Yakavonis had 9.

Middleboro 51 East Bridgewater 49: Junior Matt Youngquist (21 points) and senior Jacob Briggs (19 points) led the Sachems (5-3) to a South Shore League home win. Dylan Kiplinger had 17 points for EB, and Aiden Toomey added 14.

Canton 59, Stoughton 54: Matt Chafin (15 points) led a balanced attack for the Bulldogs in the Hockomock League win. Zaza Francoeur (13 points), Jamaal McConnell (11) and Caden Mirliani (10) also chipped in. Jayden Costa-Haywood scored 13 points for Stoughton, and Matt Greenspoon added 12.

Holbrook 59, Calvary Chapel 58: Armani Perkins scored 22 points, and Owen Burke added 17 for the Bulldogs in a home win. Malachi Desire added 6 points.

Needham 56, Braintree 32: The Wamps lost a Bay State Conference road game.

Malden Catholic 80, BC High 60: The Eagles (1-4) lost at home.

Brockton 57, Durfee 52: The Boxers won on the road.

Marshfield 61, Silver Lake 36: The Rams (6-0, 5-0) won a Patriot League road game.

Mansfield 58, Oliver Ames 41: The Tigers lost on the road in Hockomock League action.

Rockland 60, Mashpee 47: The Bulldogs (4-3, 2-2) won on the road in South Shore League action.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Cohasset 47, Hull 23: Junior Sarah Chenette had 21 points and 8 rebounds to lead the Skippers (3-3) to a South Shore League home win. Sophomore Abbie Goff was a defensive star with 14 rebounds and 6 steals. Freshmen Kate Greer and Addy Andrews also played well.

Norwell 67, Randolph 34: Sara Cashin had 10 points to lead a balance attack for the Clippers (7-1). Mia Pearce and Chloe Richardson each scored 9 points, and Ella McLoughlin added 8.

Andover 44, Bridgewater-Raynham 31: Reese Bartlett had 12 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals, but the Trojans (4-2) lost a non-league game at home. Natalia Hall-Rosa (6 points, 5 rebounds) and Jenna Micciantuono (6 points, 3 rebounds) also played well for B-R.

Durfee 35, at Brockton 24: The Boxers lost at home despite strong performances from Ashya Dingle (7 points, 5 rebounds), Tajeiha Madison (5 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals), Sunali Carter (4 points, 16 rebounds, 3 steals) and Ngozi Nwosu (3 points, 15 rebounds, 2 steals).

Notre Dame Academy 55, Fontbonne Academy 51: Sophomore Ava Orlando had 18 points and 10 assists, and younger sister Elle, a freshman, added 17 points as the Cougars won at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy. Junior Lola Paradis added 8 points for NDA. For Fontbonne, Colleen Fogarty and Lilly Blow each had 16 points, and Maggie Bedard added 9.

Avon 36, Bristol Aggie 27: Hanelie Cadet had 23 points to lead the Panthers (3-1). Dahlia Parent (7 points, 13 rebounds) and Kylie Mallett (6 points) also contributed.

South Shore Tech 42, South Shore Christian 30: Mia Bradshaw (11 points), Abby Pattison (10) and Zoey Bradshaw (8) led the host Vikings (5-1) to a non-league win.

Plymouth North 41, Duxbury 40: Maeve Moriarty (13 points) and Sophia Allen (12) led the Blue Eagles to a Patriot League home win. For Duxbury, freshman Ella Fitzpatrick scored a game-high 16 points, hitting five 3-pointers. Amanda Donovan (8 points) and Skye Cerow (7 points) also contributed.

East Bridgewater 42, Middleboro 35: Senior Phoebe Katilus had 22 points as the Vikings won at home in South Shore League action. Junior Reese Neale added 6 points for EB (4-4, 2-2). Middleboro is 6-4.

Hanover 45, Plymouth South 25: Mary Carven (14 points) and Mary Kate Flynn (13) starred as the Hawks won a Patriot League road game.

Whitman-Hanson 69, Hingham 44: Jenna Mishou (13 points, 11 rebounds) and Cassidy Briggs (10 points) led the Panthers (5-3, 5-0) to a Patriot League win.

Weymouth 43, Milton 35: Junior Med Doyle scored 11 points as Weymouth (5-2) won a Bay State Conference road game. Ainsley Weber (9 rebounds) and Mary Farrow each added 7 points. Elleanna Santos had 8 points and 7 assists.

Pembroke 46, North Quincy 26: The Titans won a Patriot League game at home.

Bishop Fenwick 58, Cardinal Spellman 29: The Cardinals lost a Catholic Central League game.

Needham 47, Braintree 33: Freshman Sophia Rotondo led the Wamps with 10 points in the home loss.

Canton 50, Stoughton 25: The Bulldogs evened their record at 2-2 with the Hockomock League home win.

GIRLS HOCKEY

Austin Prep 3, Thayer Academy 1: Kate Sullivan scored for the Tigers (2-3-1) in the ISL home loss.

GIRLS INDOOR TRACK & FIELD

Whitman-Hanson 57.66, Plymouth North 42.33: Senior captain Sydney Pires won the long jump (14-9.75) and 300 meters (:47.77) to power the Panthers at the Reggie Lewis Center. Other winners for W-H: Anne Tilley (high jump, 4-5); McKenna McCarthy (2-mile, PR 12:19.25); Sky Bucci-Anderson (mile, 5:44.43); and Gabrielle Amado (100m, 3:40.11). It was Amado's third straight win in that event.

BOYS INDOOR TRACK & FIELD

Plymouth North 67.25, Whitman-Hanson 32.75: Senior captain Noah Roberts set personal bests in winning both the long jump (18-5.25) and shot put (37-6), but the Panthers (0-3) lost at the Reggie Lewis Center. Senior captain Anthony Pires won the 55m hurdles in a PR :9.83 and took third in the 600m (1:39.65) in his first time competing in the event. Junior Logan Bourgelas ran a 4:55.17 PR to win the mile, and classmate Alex Kehayias ran 11:20.94 to win the 2-mile and finished second in the mile (5:17.87).

GIRLS SWIMMING/DIVING

Bridgewater-Raynham 91, Barnstable 75: Senior captain Jessie McNeil won the 200 IM and 100 freestyle, qualifying for Div. 1 states in both events, to lead the Trojans (4-0). Junior captain Eva Chaves won both the 400 freestyle (with a South Sectional qualifying time) and the 100 butterfly. Other winners included senior captain Sammy Bean (500 freestyle) and sophomore Eily Mitchell (100 breaststroke).

Plymouth def. Silver Lake/Whitman-Hanson: On Thursday, SL/W-H dropped to 0-3 despite Chase Lovett winning the 500 freestyle (6:46) and Brielle Shelly winning the 100 butterfly (1.08.53).

BOYS SWIMMING/DIVING

Bridgewater-Raynham 99, Barnstable 33: The Trojans (4-0) won 10 of 11 events as Jack Werb took the 200 free and 100 butterfly, and Cam Hogg captured the 100 free and 200 IM (qualifying for South Sectionals). Other individual winners for B-R were: Harry Norton (50 free), Andrew Martin (500 free) and Dante Kirika (100 backstroke). The medley and 200 free relay of Werb, Hogg, Bridges and Cooper Hammond won, as did the 400 free relay of Norton, Kirika, Ethan Ourique and Arthur Danh.

Plymouth def. Silver Lake/Whitman-Hanson: On Thursday, SL/W-H dropped to 0-3 despite winning the 200 freestyle relay as Matt Ward, Nikhil Harish, Jake Foley and Wesley Hawley finished in 1.55.72.
