High school roundup: Here are Polk County baseball, softball, tennis results

BASEBALL

Lake Wales 6, Lake Region 0

Highlights: Carson Henrikson pitched a three-hitter and struck out 14 for the Highlanders' third shutout in their last four games. Simon Scharff had a pair of hits with two RBIs. Gavin Dicks doubled and drove in a run, and Henrikson and Levi Cutts each drove in a run. Lake Wales improved to 11-1.

George Jenkins 10, Auburndale 0

Highlights: Xavier Glover pitched a two-hitter and struck out 11 to pick up the win for Jenkins. Deshaun Salter went 1 for 3 with four RBIs, and Richie Collazo went 2 for 2 with four runs scored. Braden Smith went 1 for 3 with two RBIs, and Nolan Topper doubled and drove in a run.

McKeel 5, Bartow 1

Highlights: McKeel pitcher Caleb Clanton allowed a run in the first inning then shut out Bartow the rest of the way. He finished with a four-hitter and struck out seven. Kaden Howell doubled and drove in three runs to lead the Wildcats, and Clanton singled and drove in a run.

All Saints 8, Frostproof 1

Highlights: Lucas Perez pitched a no-hitter with five walks and allowed just one unearned run and struck out 16. He also went 2 for 4 with two RBIs, and Paul O'Neil and Dominick Gotauco each had a pair of hits and an RBI to lead All Saints.

Lakeland 8, DeSoto 2

HIghlights: The Dreadnaughts scored in five of seven innings, including four in the second.

Lakeland Christian 11, Discovery 3

Highlights: Wyatt Jenkins went 2 for 4 with three RBIs and three runs scored to lead the Vikings. Daniel Hartley singled, drove in a run and scored four runs. Mitch Rodriguez went 1 for 3 with two RBIs. Jenkins, Wesley Conner, Jax Brennen and Peyton Rutledge combined for a one-hitter and 12 strikeouts.

Lakeland Christian 7, Tampa Prep 6

Highlights: Lakeland Christian rallied from a 6-2 deficit with two runs in the sixth and three in the seventh. Parker Galberaith went 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs Mitchell Rodriguez went 2 for 4 with two doubles. Colby Brewington went 1 for 4 with two RBIs. Mack Estrada pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing three earned runs on six hits with eight strikeouts, and Anthony Schatz pitched 2 1/3 innings, allowing one run on three hits with seven strikeouts.

SOFTBALL

Bartow 4, Auburndale 1

Highlights: Junior Red Oxley pitched a three-hitter and struck out 10 to lead the Yellow Jackets. Kynley Quartermaine went 2 for 4 with a triple and scored a run. K Sowell had a pair of hits and drove in a run. McKenzie Gibson and Oxley each singled and drove in a run. For Auburndale, Kassidy Pontbriant, Hailey Bradley and Nazyah Jones had one hit each, and Jones drove in a run.

McKeel 7, George Jenkins 3

Highlights: Trailing 2-1, McKeel erupted for six runs in the top of the fourth inning. The Wildcats finished with 11 hits. Rylee Bass went 2 for 4 with two RBIs, and Emma Skipper went 1 for 4 with two RBIs. Brianna Shelley had three hits and scored twice, Kyndal Cornelius had two hits, including a triple, and drove in a run. Haylee Caruthers had two hits and drove in a run. For Jenkins, Riley Pate went 3 for 3. Jazlyn Duque went 1 for 3 with an RBI.

Davenport 15, Celebration 0

Highlights: Ashanti Pagan went 2 for 3 with four RBIs to lead Davenport. Jocelyn Huddleston and Viani Chacon each had two hits with two RBIs. Sarah Duenas had two hits with two runs scored. Pagan pitched a two-hitter and struck out seven.

Winter Haven 10, Frostproof

Highlights: Reese Wells went 4 for 4 with two runs scored, and Kaprice Leonard went 20 for 4 with two RBIs to lead the Blue Devils to their first win of the season. Leonard pitched a five-inning no-hitter and struck out 10 with three walks. Trinity Hatcher had a hit and an RBI and scored three runs. Mariah Dawkins had two hits and an RBI.

Lakeland Christian 7, Fort Meade 6

Highlights: For LCS, Paitlyn Donalson had a pair of hits, and Cali Thornton, Emily Gravitt, Kinley Lawson and McKenna Gravitt had one hit each. McKenna Gravitt, Lawson and Thornton each had an RBI. For Fort Meade, Kenya Faulk went 4 for 5 with an RBI and two runs scored. Mady Shiver went 2 for 4 with three RBIs, and Cat Johnson went 2 for 3 with two RBIs.

Lake Gibson 7, Lakeland 2

Highlights: Brianna Roddenberry went 2 for 3 with a triple, RBI and two runs scored, and Brayden Seymour and Tori Herndon each had one hit with two RBIs to lead the Braves. Nadine Lewis and Roddenberry combined on a no-hitter. Lewis pitched five innings with nine strikeouts, and Roddenberry pitched two innings with four strikeouts and four walks.
