HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Quincy girls volleyball wins three-set thriller vs. Hingham
The Quincy High girls volleyball team bounced back from Monday's loss to city rival North Quincy by edging Hingham, 3-2, on the road on Wednesday.
The Presidents (5-2) had 61 digs, 9 blocks and 37 kills on 35 assists as a team in the 19-25, 25-17, 25-23, 17-25, 15-6 win.

Kate DiBartolomeo starred for the Harborwomen (3-3) in the loss.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Whitman-Hanson 3, Pembroke 2: Sophomore setter Caroline Gray had a strong match, and captain Gracey Gorman went on an 8-point service run in the last set as the Panthers (5-2, 3-2 Patriot League) rallied for a 23-25, 25-17, 22-25, 25-17, 15-5 win. Sophomore Andrea Mulligan made her varsity debut and notched 5 kills in the final set.
East Bridgewater 3, Mashpee 2: Cailtlyn Ghallager led the way offensively for the Vikings (2-4). Piper Bradbury was strong from the service line, and Maddie Blette was a defensive standout.

Duxbury 3, North Quincy 1: The Green Dragons (5-0) handed the Raiders (6-1) their first loss, 13-25, 26-24, 25-19, 25-22.
Hanover 3, Silver Lake 0: Claire Kenney (6 kills, 6 aces, 8 digs), Sarah Long (4 kills, 6 aces) and Mary Elliot (5 kills, block) starred for the Hawks.

Plymouth North 3, Plymouth South 2: The Blue Eagles won the final set, 15-5, to clinch the win over their town rivals.
South Shore Tech 3, Old Colony 1: Senior outside hitter Gemma Geisler (7 kills, 2 blocks, 7 aces) and junior outside Hannah Nota (7 kills) led the Vikings (5-0).
St. Paul's 3, Thayer Academy 1: The Tigers lost, 25-14, 25-14, 17-25, 25-17.
GIRLS SOCCER
Cardinal Spellman 3, Archbishop Williams 1: Junior Emma Pero had a hat trick, and Marina Duffy added an assist for the Cardinals (3-1-1). Goalkeeper Taylor Dolan made 13 saves, and Lyla Deftos, Grace Foster and Poe Hamel were strong defensively.
Canton 6, Milford 1: Lauren Shatkin, Emma Cahill, Emily McCabe, Caira McKinney, Gisella Berardi and Mekhala Costello scored for the Bulldogs (5-0-2).

Oliver Ames 2, Attleboro 0: Jolie Diaz and Emma Gavin scored for the Tigers (4-1). Sophia Byron had an assist, Mary Cross played well in the midfield, and goalkeeper Janiya Matier made 4 saves.
Holbrook 6, Avon 2: On Tuesday, Hanelie Cadet had a goal and an assist, and Kate Austrino scored, assisted by Dahlia Parent, for Avon. Goalkeeper Mica Gomes had 17 saves in the loss.
BOYS SOCCER
Archbishop Williams 1, Cardinal Spellman 0: Antonio Guarino scored, assisted by Angel Luyo, and goalkeeper Nate Morris posted his fifth shutout of the season for the visiting Bishops (5-1). For Spellman (0-4), freshman defender Matt McIsaac and senior goalkeeper Stephan Moise played well.
Oliver Ames 2, Attleboro 0: Andrew Martins and Ryan Linhares scored second-half goals to lift the Tigers (3-0-2, 3-0-1 Hockomock League). Assists came from Casey Milliken (7th of the season) and Diego Riveira. Sophomore goalkeeper Drew Hall recorded his second career shutout.
FIELD HOCKEY
Braintree 3, Newton North 0: Bridget Lee scored twice, Claire Joyce added a goal, and goalie Bella Corcoran posted her third shutout of the season for the Wamps. Kate Lee and Callie Burchill had assists.
Hingham 5, Scituate 0: Sophomore Haylen Wilson (2 goals, assist) and senior captain Ellie Savitscus (goal, assist) starred for the Harborwomen (5-1, 4-0 Patriot League).
Norwell 6, Mashpee 0: Freshman Lainey Burns scored twice, and Maddie McDonald, Margaret Lievi, Paige McGuire and Abby Greene added goals for the Clippers (3-3-1).
Silver Lake 3, Duxbury 2: Caitlyn Hussey scored both goals for Duxbury.
BOYS GOLF
Sandwich 246, Bridgewater-Raynham 252: Co-captain Pat Concannon was B-R's medalist, shooting 39. Justin Peters, Richie Thayer and Jason Coughlin all shot 40 for the Trojans (4-2).
Duxbury 228, Plymouth North 270: Ryan Sherwood and Andrew Curley each shot 35 at Duxbury Yacht Club to lead the Green Dragons. Henry Macquarrie (37) and Zach Hamilton (38) also starred. Aidan Lennon shot 38 for North.
Hanover 241, North Quincy 252: Junior Matt Reynolds was low medalist with a 37, and classmate Chris Doherty shot 38 for the Hawks (6-0). North Quincy’s Aiden Bridges shot 38 and Myles Hastings shot 41.
Norwell 106, Cohasset 78: Griffin Link shot 3-over-par 38 to lead the Clippers to a win at South Shore Country Club.
Marshfield 239, Silver Lake 286: Nate O’Brien shot 36 to power the Rams.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Weymouth splits: The Wildcats (2-2) defeated Framingham, 20-43, but lost to Wellesley, 15-48. Weymouth was led by Gracie Richard (7th, 20:15 over 5K), Leah Galvin (8th, 20:32), Izzy Galusha (9th, 20:34), Meg Connolly (10th, 20:43) and Kate Carnes (13th, 21:33).
Brockton 15, Durfee 50: Aubrey Talbot notched her first race win for the Boxers, who also got strong runs from Shania Gardiner and Drew Hendrigan.
Oliver Ames 17, Foxboro 43: On Tuesday, Katie Sobieraj, Johanna Holmes, Annie Reilly, and Taegan Hodges swept the top four spots as the Tigers won at Borderland State Park. Hannah Dupill and Braelyn Graham finished 6-7.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Brockton 15, Durfee 50: The Boxers swept the first 10 spots, led by Aaron Corlette, Chris Gorynski, Rob Moyes and Patrick Darling.
Oliver Ames 19, Foxboro 39: On Tuesday, Ryan Sarney, Brendan Thomas and Aidan Dupill swept the top three spots as the Tigers won at Borderland State Park. Brody Lake and Alex Callanan finished 6-7.
