HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Quincy, North Quincy split girls/boys basketball doubleheader

The city basketball doubleheader ended in a draw at Quincy High.

In the first game, the Quincy girls beat North Quincy, 60-36, to improve to 10-1 and clinch a berth in the Division 1 state playoffs. The Presidents entered the game No. 26 in Division 1 in the MIAA power rankings that came out Friday morning.

Caroline Campbell led Quincy with 15 points, and Alyssa Hopps (12), Caroline Tracey (11) and Lena Waldron (11) also contributed.

In the nightcap, the North Quincy boys prevailed, 74-32, as senior guard Zach Taylor poured in 30 points and added 4 steals. Sophomore guard Kobe Nguyen had 7 points, 6 assists and a pair of steals for NQ (9-3, 8-1), which had 12 different players score. Seniors Sean Burns and Grant Murphy had their first varsity points.

For Quincy, junior guard Danny Adams had 13 points, and junior guard Manny Aguayo added 8.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Whitman Hanson 63, Marshfield 55: Senior captain Cam Burrows scored 12 points and was a defensive standout, and freshman Isaiah Bean Brittian had 20 points and 12 rebounds as the Panthers (8-4, 7-2) posted a Patriot League road win. Sophomore Ryan Baker (16 points, 8 rebounds) and senior captain Drew Daley (10 points) also starred for W-H, which moves into a first-place tie with Marshfield in the Keenan Division.

East Bridgewater 58, Abington 51: Aidan Toomey (13 points), Dylan Kaplinger (11 points) and Aiden Flaherty (6 points, 12 rebounds, 5 steals) starred as the Vikings (7-4) won at home in South Shore League action. Connor Pease had 30 points, 18 rebounds and 8 blocks for Abington (6-6).

BC High 51, Xaverian 48: The Eagles won on the road.

Brookline 70, Braintree 51: The Wamps lost a Bay State Conference home game.

Blue Hills 59, South Shore Tech 32: The Warriors won at home in Mayflower Athletic Conference action. SST (4-7, 2-2) was led by Brandon LaFleur (14 points, 8 assists).

Foxboro 75, Canton 73 (2 OT): Jamaal McConnell scored 24 points, but the Bulldogs lost a Hockomock League game at home. Julius Hicks (13 points), Zaza Francoeur (11), Caden Mirliani (10) and Matt Chafin (9) also contributed for Canton (6-5, 4-4).

Bishop Feehan 63, Cardinal Spellman 56: The Cardinals (8-3) lost on the road in a back-and-forth battle. Jaydan Exalus had 18 points and 8 rebounds.

Carver 44, Cohasset 33: Charlie Condon (11 points) and Tyler Lennox (10) led the Crusaders (8-4) to a South Shore League road win.

Duxbury 54, Hingham 51: Alex Barlow (12 points), Tate Fiedler (11) and Zach Falls (10) led the Dragons (5-6) to a Patriot League home win. Liam McBride scored 30 points for Hingham (4-7).

Holbrook 64, Atlantis Charter 39: Armani Perkins (19 points), Owen Burke (18) and Allen Brown (14) led the Bulldogs to a home win.

Hull 64, Mashpee 43: Seniors Tommy Burke and John Gianibas each scored 19 points, and classmate Tyler Sordillo added 12 for the Pirates in the South Shore League home win.

Middleboro 58, Randolph 48: Jacob Briggs and Nick Marzelli each scored 22 points for the Sachems (8-4) in the South Shore League home win. Isaiah Michel led the Blue Devils (9-3) with 19 points.

Pembroke 46, Hanover 26: Brady Spencer scored 11 points and Devanti Perry added 10 as the Titans won a Patriot League road game over the Hawks (5-5).

Plymouth North 62, Silver Lake 48: Senior Nick Marcel scored 18 points to power the Blue Eagles (4-8) to a Patriot League road win. Ivan Darko (12 points), Hunter Byron (9 points), and Troy Chase (9 points) and Cody Quinn (8 points, 11 rebounds) also starred.

Plymouth South 59, Scituate 35: Justin LaChance (15 points) and Jamie Andrews (13 points, 10 rebounds) led the host Panthers (7-2) to a Patriot League win. Declan Davis (12 points) and Aidan Morrow (7 points) also contributed.

Sharon 62, Oliver Ames 58: The Tigers lost a Hockomock League road game.

Framingham 47, Milton 43: In the road loss, the Wildcats were led by Kendy St. Cyr (14 points) and Roddy Tobin (13 points).

Norwell 55, Calvary Chapel Academy 39: Ryan Luccarelli and Matt Leaver each scored 16 points for the Clippers in the non-league home win.

Mansfield 83, Stoughton 52: In the road loss, Jayden Costa-Haywood had 13 points and Jarred Daughtry added 11 for the Black Knights.

Weymouth 57, Newton North 51: Will Savage scored 19 points and Cam Nordstrom added 10 as the Wildcats (6-6) won a Bay State Conference home game.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Oliver Ames 68, Sharon 36: Avery Gamble (17 points, 6 rebounds), Kamryn Derba (15 points, 4 assists), Kaydance Derba (9 points) and senior captain Maddie Homer (5 points, 7 rebounds, 7 steals) led the Tigers to a Hockomock League home win.

Avon 35, Bishop Connolly 29: Hanelie Cadet let the way with 19 points for the Panthers while Kylie Mallett added 6 and Uwa Idada grabbed 11 rebounds.

Bishop Stang 66, Archbishop Williams 53: Archies lost at home.

East Bridgewater 50, Abington 44: The Vikings (8-5, 5-3) posted a South Shore League road win as Phoebe Katilus scored 20 points and Reese Neale was a defensive standout.

Fontbonne Academy 40, Ursuline Academy 29: Lilly Blow (12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals), Colleen Fogarty (11 points), Alix Abelard (10 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks) and Tressa Murphy (7 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks) starred for the visiting Ducks (6-3, 3-1) in the Catholic Conference win.

Brookline 47, Braintree 24: The Wamps lost a Bay State Conference road game.

Brockton def. Charlestown: The Boxers (7-5) won the game by forfeit.

Foxboro 55, Canton 32: The Bulldogs lost a Hockomock League road game.

Cohasset 53, Carver 32: Sarah Chenette had 27 points and 8 rebounds to lead the Skippers to a South Shore League road win. Laney Larsen, Addy Andrews and Emma Goff also played well for Cohasset.

Hingham 58, Duxbury 55: Anabelle Platt scored 16 points as the Harborwomen won at home. Lyla Peters led Duxbury with 15 points, and Skye Cerow added 14. The Dragons erased a 19-point halftime deficit by outscoring Hingham 25-5 in the third quarter but could not pull out the win.

Pembroke 40, Hanover 37: Deanna Linscott (19 points) sank two free throws in the closing seconds as the Titans edged the Hawks at home in Patriot League action. Elli Tam added 7 points. Freshmen Tess Madden led Hanover with 15 points.

Holbrook 36, Bristol-Plymouth 27: Senior Alyssa Slamin scored 17 points and collected 7 steals for the Bulldogs. Mary Walker added 11 points and 5 blocks.

Mashpee 56, Hull 36: The Falcons won a South Shore League game played at the Mashpee Wampanoag Community and Government Center.

Whitman-Hanson 53, Marshfield 35: The Panthers (8-4, 8-1) beat the Rams at home in Patriot League action, led by Caitlin Leahy (13 points, 14 rebounds), Jenna Mishou (11 points), Taryn Leonard (10 points) and Cassidy Briggs (9 points).

Framingham 56, Milton 27: The Wildcats (6-7) lost at home.

Silver Lake 61, Plymouth North 58 (OT): Chloe Lanza scored 17 points as the Lakers (3-10) upset North (9-3) on the road in Patriot League action. Cassidy Conroy and Kelsi Lanza each added 12 points, and Sara Miller (8) and Catherine deMacedo (7) also contributed.

Scituate 69, Plymouth South 41: Grace McNamara (25 points) and Emilia Rojik (20) led the Sailors to a Patriot League home win. Freshman Riley Guterl had her first varsity points.

South Shore Tech 42, Blue Hills 36: Mia Bradshaw and Abby Pattison each scored 13 points as the host Vikings (10-1) won their 10th straight to qualify for the postseason. Zoey Bradshaw added 9 points. Kate Feloney, a junior from Milton, was a standout for Blue Hills.

Mansfield 80, Stoughton 37: The Black Knights lost a Hockomock League home game.

West Bridgewater 37, Westport 36: Grace Polen (6 points) won it at the buzzer for the host Wildcats. Amanda Jacques had 10 points, Jenella Jacobs and Dorothea McGrath each had 8.

Newton North 68, Weymouth 52: Meg Doyle had 19 points and 14 rebounds for the Wildcats (5-5, 2-5) in the Bay State Conference loss. Ainsley Weber (8 points, 5 rebounds) and Larissa Gilberto (7 points, 5 rebounds) also starred

GIRLS GYMNASTICS

Natick 132.45, Braintree 131.3: Braintree's Abigail Kostas won the all-around with a score of 33.3. She tied for first on vault (8.6) and tied for second on bars (7.9) and beam (8.5).
