HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Scituate boys hockey nets another Fisher Division championship

Teagan Pratt scored twice Saturday as the Scituate High boys hockey team celebrated Senior Night by beating Plymouth South, 4-1, to claim a second straight Patriot League Fisher Division championship.

James Sullivan and Jackson Belsan also found the net for the Sailors (13-4-2), and goaltender Thomas McMellen had a strong game.

Plymouth South is 12-5-1.

BOYS HOCKEY

Hingham 5, St. John's (Shrewsbury) 2: Ace Concannon broke a 2-2 tie with 10:30 left in regulation, and Aidan Brazel added a pair of late goals for the Harbormen (11-1-5). Danny Carroll and Connor Richardson scored to pull Hingham out of an early 2-0 deficit.

Milton 8, Newton North 2: The Wildcats (7-9-1) got a pair of goals each from Declan Walsh (3 assists), Barry Burke (2 assists) and Patrick O'Neil. Sean McDougall (goal, 2 assists) and Ryan Peterson (goal) also contributed. Goaltender Sabatino Finocchio made 13 saves for his first varsity win.

Rockland 7, South Shore Tech 4: Ben Romer (hat trick, assist), Joey Salamone (2 goals), Sean Geary (goal, 2 assists) and Cooper Larouco (2 assists) starred for the Bulldogs (9-9-1). Patrick McGuirk, Shane Kimball and Chris Fuller each had a pair of assists.

Cohasset/Hull 4, Southeastern/Bristol-Plymouth 1: Shane Mulcahy scored twice and Luke Dunham and Robbie Casagrande added goals as the Skippers improve to 9-4-3. Sean Kelly scored the lone goal for the Hawks (8-5-1), assisted by Nick Falcione and Andrew Flanagan.

Duxbury 6, Plymouth North 2: Aidan Harrington scored twice, and Brady Walsh, Braeden Hulett, Mike Yucius and Anderson Kilbourne added goals for the Dragons (12-4-2).

Silver Lake 3, Whitman-Hanson 2: Pat Murphy scored the winning goal, assisted by Brandon Cavicchi, for the Lakers (11-6-1). Connor Donohue and Connor Finn also found the net. Joe Culley and Matt Solari scored for the Panthers (9-7-1).

Dartmouth 7, Stoughton/Brockton 1: Sean Farley scored the lone goal for S/B, assisted by Ryan Summers and Charlie Caputo.

Taunton 5, West/East Bridgewater 3: Luke Parry, Matt Martineau and Kyle McDonald each had a goal and an assist for WEB in the loss.

Abington 9, Blue Hills 4: Jake Quinn had a hat trick and an assist, and Matthew Grafton (2 goals, 3 assists) and Evan St. Martin (2 goals, assist) also starred for the Green Wave (7-10). Max Wilkinson and Cullen Crocker added goals.

Catholic Memorial 4, Archbishop Williams 0: The Bishops (11-6) lost on the road against CM (15-2).

Hanover 5, Quincy 2: The Hawks beat the Presidents in Patriot League action.

Pembroke 2, North Quincy 2: Ryan Conway and Brendan Abban scored for Pembroke (8-6-2) in the Patriot League tie.

Lexington 3, Oliver Ames 2: The Tigers (9-8-1) lost at home on Senior Night.

GIRLS HOCKEY

Braintree 3, Weymouth 2 (OT): Fiona Holland's second goal of the game won it for the visiting Wamps (10-5-2). Emma Walsh also scored for Braintree. Weymouth is 6-10-2.

Milton 5, Newton North 1: Molly Murphy had a hat trick and Sarah McGillivray and Molly Lovett added goals for the Wildcats (14-1-3), who are the Bay State Conference Herget Division champs.

Pembroke 8, Norwell/Abington 0: Jen Birolini scored 4 goals for the Titans (10-5-1), and Maria Cantino (goal, 2 assists), Ava Dunphy (goal, assist), Lauren Perry (goal, assist) and Peyton Sowersby (goal) also starred. Emily LaVallee posted the shutout in net.

Notre Dame Academy 4, Bishop Feehan 3 (OT): Morgan Brady, of Middleboro, scored her second goal of the game in OT to lift NDA (10-4). Sarah White (Hanover) added a goal.

Whitman-Hanson 3, Plymouth North/South 3: Camryn Dematos scored twice for WHSL (10-5) in the Patriot League tie.

West/East Bridgewater 5, Stoughton 1: Grace Ogilvie and Lauren McPherson each scored twice, and Susana Carriere netted her first varsity goal for WEB. Ogilvie, Jenny Francione and Abi Gropman had assists.

Duxbury 1, Canton 1: The Dragons (16-0-2) and Bulldogs (12-2-3) skated to a non-league tie.

Hingham 6, Quincy/North Quincy 0: Sophomore goaltender Brynn Scott posted the shutout for the Harborwomen (10-5-2).

Archbishop Williams 2, Malden Catholic 1: Maggie Lynch (Quincy) scored both goals as the Bishops (13-2-1) won at home.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Archbishop Williams 86, Cathedral 73: Senior forward Josh Campbell led the Bishops (16-0) with 24 points and 10 rebounds, and junior Tommy McDonagh scored 15 of his career-high 20 point in the second half. Junior guards Andres Espaillat (13 points, 7 assists) and Tristan Rodriguez (12 points) also starred.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Notre Dame Academy 87, Cape Cod Academy 43: Freshman Elle Orlando (25 points) and sophomore Ava Orlando (22 points) powered the Cougars (10-6) to a home win. Sophomore Colleen Dee added 12 points.

GIRLS SWIMMING/DIVING

Duxbury takes second: The Dragons' run of seven consecutive South Sectional team crowns was snapped as Franklin staged a late rally, capped by winning the final event – the 400-yard freestyle relay – to finish first at the Beverly YMCA. Franklin scored 226.50 points. Duxbury was runner-up with 222, followed by Hingham (174) in third, Scituate (154) in fourth and Canton (126) in sixth. Other area teams: Hanover (10th place, 78 points); Cardinal Spellman (15th, 65); Norwell (16th, 51); Bridgewater-Raynham (18th, 45); Quincy (21st, 36); and Cohasset (22nd, 33.5).

Duxbury's Olivia Templeton won 1-meter diving (485.45 points) and swam on the winning 200 free relay (1:46.86) with Alli Brown, Sophia Levasseur and Lorelei Perda. Brown also finished second in the 100 free (:53.94) and third in the 200 free (1:7.38).

Cardinal Spellman's Abby Toepfer won the 500 free (5:11.11) and was second in the 200 free (1:55.11).

B-R's Jessie McNeil won the 200 IM in a career-best 2:07.24. This is the eighth time a B-R swimmer has won a sectional title in the program's 14-year history. McNeil also placed third in the 100 breaststroke (career-best 1:08.34).

Hingham's Clara Bodnar was second in both the 200 IM (2:07.98) and the 100 butterfly (:57.57). Hingham also was runner-up in the 200 medley relay (1:54.65).

Hanover's Brenna Short was second in diving (467.20), Scituate's Megan Nelson was third in the 200 IM (2:13.34), and Canton's Shauna Harney was third in the 100 backstroke (1:00.62).

The boys South Sectional will be held on Sunday in Beverly.

GIRLS GYMNASTICS

Marshfield wears league crown: Annie Spencer (35.15 points) and Olivia Audette (35.0) finished 2-3 in the all-around as the Rams won the Patriot League championship, scoring 139.10 points at Head Over Heels in Norwell. Pembroke/Silver Lake (135.05) was second, followed by Hanover (132.40), Hingham/Hull (130.70), Scituate (130.05), Whitman-Hanson (124.10) and Plymouth North/South (122.20).

Pembroke/Silver Lake's Mackenzie Mackinaw was the all-around champ (35.90). Hingham/Hull's Sienna Besser (34.7) was fourth, and Scituate's Ciara Hughes (34.45) was fifth.

Cranberry crown fits: Bridgewater-Raynham/West Bridgewater won the Cranberry League championship, scoring 145.05 points. Brockton/East Bridgewater was second (141.55) and Falmouth/Mashpee/Barnstable was third (141.05).

B-R/WB senior captain Katie Russo won the all-around title with a season-high score of 37.3. She had career highs on both vault (9.7) and floor (9.5) and scored 9.3 on bars and 8.8 on beam. Freshman teammate Lily Moreira was third in the all-around at 36.25. She posted career highs on both vault (9.15) and beam (9.1) and scored 9.0 on bars and 9.1 on floor. Also for B-R/WB, senior captain Sage Balsamo won beam (9.1), and Cecilia Meoli won floor (9.25).
