BASEBALL

Division I

Cranston West 11, Central 0 (5 inn.)

Colby Kuzman opened the game with a home run and Demetri Sampalis ended the contest with a three-run blast in the bottom of the fifth (10-run rule was enforced) and Cranston West shutout Central. All of the Knight's starters had at least one hit, including Ethan Madden who had three knocks and scored twice. Falcons' starting pitcher Nicholas Masse completed the 5 innings allowing no runs on 4 hits while striking out 4 to pick up the win.

North Kingstown 14, Moses Brown 3 (6 inn.)

Evan Beattie and Robinson Lamond led the Skippers with 4 hits apiece and 8 combined RBI in this shortened win over the Quakers in Division I. Also chipping in was Ben Davis with 2 hits. Will Creed allowed 2 hits in 5 innings on the mound. Henry Ballou had a double for Moses Brown.

Coventry 7, Pilgrim 4

Tommy Turner struck out 8 and allowed just 2 hits through 5 innings to get the win for the Oakers. Logan Downey sealed it with a save. Anthony Colucci and Logan Lama had big hits in a 4-run fourth inning for Coventry to help the cause. Pilgrim’s Chace Roberts and  Tyler Boudreau each had 2 hits in the loss.

Division II

Mt. Hope 3, South Kingstown 2

Parker Camelo went 2-2 with and RBI and AJ Jones doubled and drove in another run and the Huskies held on for a victory over the Rebels. Starting pitcher Brad Denson pitched 6.1 inning, allowing 0 earned runs with 5 strikeouts to pick up the win. Ethan Santerre came on in relief and earned the save by getting the final two outs. Patrick Ruhle had 2 hits for the Rebels in the loss.

SOFTBALL

Division I

North Kingstown 11, Chariho 2

The Skippers brought out the hitting sticks as they belted 3 homeruns and three players had 3 hits apiece as they rolled to victory over Chariho. Julianna Bucci, Bianca Harding and freshman Rosie Hayward each had three hits with Bucci, and Harding each going deep. Another freshman, Gabby Peralta, smacked a three-homer in the second to put the NK ahead for good. And yet another freshman, Mia D'Andrea picked up the win allowing only two runs while striking out 3.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Division III

East Providence 15, Rogers 2

Ryleigh Grant proved to be unstoppable as she netted 10 goals and the Townies improved to 6-1 on the year with a win over the Vikings. Others finding the back of the net for EP were Kenna Wigginton and Kloey Lacarone with 2 goals each and Emma Nordquist with 1 tally. Goalie Ava Williams recorded 14 saves in the win.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Division II

Barrington 3, Pilgrim 0 (25-19, 25 -12, 25-15)

The Eagles' Cam Kelley had 13 kills, 5 aces and 7 digs and teammate Max Oberacker had 7 kills, 5 aces and 4 digs. For the Patriots, Jack Eaton had 6 kills in the loss.

Lincoln 3, Central 1 (25-21, 25-22, 19-25, 25-18)

The Lions' Will Denio had 12 kills, 11 digs, 3 aces and 3 blocks; Austin Noel had 32 assists, 8 digs and Wayne McNamara had 7 kills and 19 digs. For the Knights, Jet Nascimento had 13 kills, 16 digs and 2 blocks and Joshua Ramirez had 3 kills, 27 assists and 5 digs.

Westerly 3, Cranston 2

Tyler Braymen was on a mission as he amassed 23 kills, 10 assists, 4 blocks, 5 digs and an ace and teammate Jack Kenyon delivered 11 kills, 5 blocks and an ace as Westerly handed Division-leader Cranston West its first loss of the season (8-1). The Bulldogs improved to 5-2. Chris Harvey had another solid effort for the Falcons with 17 kills, 1 ace, 1 block and 1 dig and teammate Christian Max had an equally impressive outing with 14 kills and 3 blocks.

East Providence 3, Toll Gate 0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-17)

The Townies' DJ Lepine had 4 digs and 19 kills, and Xavier Graea had 2 aces and 11 kills. For the Titans, Jayden Glover had 3 aces, and 4 kills and Auston Vann had 2 kills and 1 solo block.

Division III

Johnston 3, Tolman/Shea 0 (25-11, 25-16, 25-18) JV - T/S, 2-0.

The Panthers improved to 6-0 on the year while Tolman/Shea falls to 4-2.

Central Falls 3, North Providence 0 (25-9, 25-18, 26-25). JV - CF, 2-0.

The play of Shadean Lovett (7 kills, 1 block), Branden Schenck (6 aces) and Chande Nobre Soares (13 assists, 1 ace, 1 kill) was too much for North Providence to deal with in its loss to Central Falls.

Woonsocket 3, Ex./West Greenwich 2 (25-23, 20-25, 26-24, 24-26, 17-15)

The Villa Novans' Alex Herrera had 15 kills, and 3 blocks and Devin Merrill had 13 kills. For the Scarlet Knights, Jason Mathews had 10 digs and Andan Fry had 11 kills and 7 digs.
