HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Silver Lake boys hockey wins overtime thriller over Oliver Ames

The Silver Lake High boys hockey team rallied from behind to defeat Oliver Ames, 5-4, in overtime Wednesday.

Aiden Dunphy (assist) tied the game at 4-4 to send it into overtime. Brandon Cavicchi (two assists) netted the winner. Ben Cronin, Pat Murphy and Jason Katapodis scored the other goals for the Lakers.

BOYS HOCKEY

Duxbury 5, Whitman-Hanson 2: The Dragons (1-0-1) rallied with four goals in the third period. Michael Hussey had a hat trick and an assist while Colin Hulett and Wyatt Glass added the other goals. Sam Mazanec played well in net. Alex Ethier scored two goals in the loss.

Marshfield 7, Plymouth North 1: Brady Quackenbush played well for the Rams. Ryland McGlame (assists) and Cam McGettrick both scored two goals while Marshfield had 10 different players on the scoresheet.

Braintree 3, Milton 0: Matt Harvey, Devin Lucas and Anthony Cappello each scored their first varsity goal in the win for the Wamps. Jack Fitzgerald recorded the shutout. Andrew McHugh made 28 saves for the Wildcats.

Tri-County 8, Blue Hills 6: The Warriors drop to 0-2.

Quincy 2, Dover-Sherborn/Weston 1: Will Martin scored both goals for the Presidents. Lincoln Hennessy handed out two assists and Tyler Holmes earned the win with 27 saves.

Stoughton/Brockton 7, Attleboro 2: Colby Strunk scored four goals in the win. Cooper Lehmann, Brendan Twohig and Sean Farley each chipped in a goal. Sean McGowan had a win in his first varsity start in goal.

Weymouth 6, Brookline 1: The Wildcats won their season opener as Anthony Prioli tallied a hat trick.

Hingham 10, Bridgewater-Raynham 0: The Harbormen rolled in their season opener.

St. Mary's (Lynn) 3, Archbishop Williams 1: Finn Kelly scored in the loss for the Bishops.

Hanover 3, Plymouth South 1: Ben Lines scored two goals for the Hawks.

Norwell 3, Abington 2: Mike Hanlon scored his first varsity goal for the Clippers (3-0). Austin Shea and Nolan Petrucelli scored the other goals. Spencer Merrick made 34 saves in the loss and Eric Wilkinson scored his first varsity goal.

East Bridgewater/West Bridgewater 3, Rockland 2: Luke Parry had a goal and two assists and Brayden Bates made 23 saves for WEB. Anthony Patete (assist) and Matt Martineau scored the other goals in the win. Shane Kimball and Ben Romer scored in the loss.

Pembroke 4, Scituate 3 (OT): Brendan Abban scored three goals, including the OT winner, and James Stone made 53 saves for the Titans. Danny Brown, Nate Sanella and Jackson Belsan scored for Scituate.

GIRLS HOCKEY

Archbishop Williams 1, Bishop Fenwick 1: The Bishops played to a tie in their season opener. Maggie Lynch scored for the Bishops.

Plymouth South/Plymouth North 1, Hanover 0: Gabbie Sidman made 32 saves in a shutout effort while Maeve Campbell scored the lone goal off a feed from Sabrina Andrews.

Whitman-Hanson/Silver Lake 3, Marshfield 2 (OT): Caitlin Dilley scored an overtime winner for WHSL. Chloe Duff and Juliana Connors also scored. Morgan Murphy played well in goal in the loss.

Pembroke 6, Scituate 3: Jen Birolini, Maria Cantino and Hannah D'Angelo each scored two goals for the Titans in the win. Mia Dunphy earned her first win in net. Kiera Modder scored two goals in the loss.

Duxbury 3, Norwell/Abington 1: Calli Pineau scored in the loss and Nicole Prescott stopped 54 shots.

Braintree 1, Milton 0: Meghan Ceriani scored the lone goal in the win for the Wamps. Lila Chamoun made 27 saves in the loss.

Old Rochester Regional 9, Stoughton 2: Peri Rodman (first varsity) and Ava Buckley scored in the loss.

BOYS BASKETBALL

West Bridgewater 47, East Bridgewater 39: Tommy Perna scored 20 points to lead the Wildcats (1-0) to a season-opening win while Ryan McGrath played well at point guard. Thomas Stapleton, Jag Garces and Nate Anderson rebounded well.

Hull 52, Mashpee 22: The Pirates improved to 1-1 behind solid scoring from John Gianibas (12 points), Tommy Burke (11) and Aidan Murphy (10).

Cardinal Spellman 78, St. Joseph's Prep 43: The Cardinals improve to 2-0 as Luke McSharry (19 points, 6 rebounds) Jaydan Exalus (15 points, 6 rebounds) and Marvin Petit-Frere (17 points, 6 rebounds) starred. Jake McSharry added 10 points.

Bristol-Plymouth 64, South Shore Tech 46: Tyrin MacDonald scored 14 points while Jesse Lyons chipped in 11 points and 12 rebounds, but the Vikings (0-2) lost. Brandon LaFleur added 9 points.

Carver 67, Blue Hills 31: Robbie Petterson (18 points), Tyler Lennox (13) and Charlie Condon (11) led the way for the Crusaders (2-0). Ed Ramsdell added 5 points.

Southeastern 71, Arlington Catholic 42: Tristan Ortega and Chance Moya each scored 16 points, while Seth Hayes put in 15 points for the Hawks (1-1).

Avon 67, South Shore Christian Academy 20: The Panthers forced 20 turnovers and Josiah Guerrier (10 points) and Jordan Medeiros (11) led the way offensively.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Dartmouth 61, Middleboro 37: Freshman Julia Fernandes scored 9 points for the Sachems (1-2).

East Bridgewater 64, West Bridgewater 24: Phoebe Katilus (18 points), Chloe Lang (14), Sophie Bradbury (11) and Emma Farrell (10) led the way for the Vikings (2-0).

Avon 34, South Shore Christian Academy 25: Hanelie Cadet scored 12 points to lead the Panthers (2-0) to the win. Kylie Mallett (7 points), Dahlia Parent (6) and Emma MacDonald (6) also chipped in.

South Shore Tech 23, Sturgis East 20: Abby Pattinson led the Vikings in their season opener with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Mia Bradshaw chipped in 5 points.

Blue Hills 52, Mount Alvernia 35: Double-doubles from Bella Sulfaro (17 points, 12 rebounds) and Kathleen Murphy (15 points, 10 rebounds) led the way for the Warriors. Bridget Devine, of Braintree, also played well with 6 points, 16 rebounds and 9 blocks.

WRESTLING

Quincy/North Quincy 42, Cohasset 36: QNQ won its season opener.

Oliver Ames 40, Whitman-Hanson 36: Junior Tyler Ingalls' pin at 138 pounds clinched the win. It was also his first varsity win for the Tigers (1-0). Jack Butler, Jake Manthous and Victor Romeiro had wins for OA. Charlie Lussier improved to 3-0 on the season with a pin at 106 pounds for the Panthers. Maddox Colclough collected a pin in 24 seconds at 285 pounds.

Bridgewater-Raynham 72, Plymouth North 6: Kennedie Davis, Matt Fernandes, Brent von Magnus, Jack Alves, Savell Samuel, Brendan Rosher, Fletcher Rinke, Christian Curley, Luke Driscoll, Jackson Rinke, Nathan Leach and Cam Davidson all picked up wins for the Trojans (5-0).

Hanover 48, Carver 30: Micheal Costello, Anthony Mann, John Ryan, Austin Parker and John Regan had pins for the Hawks.
