High school roundup: St. Edward's boys lacrosse powers past Pine School

Oscar Lindenthal and Harrison Hardin each scored three goals as St. Edward's was too much for Pine School in a 15-1 victory in Hobe Sound.

Lindenthal added two assists, Ford Norris and Eli Barin both scored two goals and picked up two assists, Ricky Savage scored two goals and added one assist, Reed Sternberg scored a goal and added a team-high three assists and Riker Pratt and Will Russell tacked on goals for the St. Edward's offense.

Kieran Colgan made five saves in goal for the Pirates (9-1), who have only lost to IMG Academy on the season and are currently ranked No. 2 in the state by the FHSAA rankings.

Dawson John netted the lone goal of the match for Pine School, who got 17 saves from Win Auerbach.

Flag Football

Martin County 33, Okeechobee 0: Cali Scornavacca threw five touchdown passes and the Tiger defense pitched a shutout to send Martin County to a 2-0 record.

Jasleen Nguyen caught two touchdowns from 10 yards and 13 yards out, Dakota Moberg had a 4-yard touchdown catch, Katie Heeb had 23-yard touchdown catch and Rebecca Cotton caught a touchdown from 12 yards out for the Tiger offense.

Nguyen led the team with three sacks, Laniyah Smalls added one sack and Moberg and Natalie Belisle each had interceptions in the Tiger secondary.

Centennial 32, South Fork 0: Olivia Kaes threw for three touchdowns, two of which going to Mya Heath, and ran in two more to lead the way for the Eagles (3-0).

Centennial's defense pitched its first shutout of the year after registering 10 last season.

Jensen Beach 42, Port St. Lucie 0: Courtney Cromer went 13-for-16, throwing for 186 yards and four touchdowns to send the Falcons (3-0) to victory.

Julia Thurlow caught four passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns and added an interception on defense, Lauren Duke and Dalia Yazji added touchdown catches, Makayla Lowenbach scored on a 20-yard touchdown run and Bella Faherty ad five flag pulls, three that went for loss including a safety and took a punt back 50 yards for a score for Jensen Beach.

Baseball

Jensen Beach 7, Treasure Coast 3: Patrick Ward went 2-for-4 with two RBI and Cade Gilcrease struck out five in four innings to lead the Falcons (9-1) to victory. Cade Crews and Kyle Derrenbacker each had a hit and two RBI and Ward sat down all five batters he faced to earn the save for Jensen Beach.

Austin Glover and Greyson Cripps each had a hit and an RBI and Logan Zavala had two hits in the loss for Treasure Coast.

Vero Beach 6, D’Evelyn (Co.) 2: Blake Holshouser threw a complete game, striking out seven and Lahiem Bell hit his fourth home run of the year and drove in three runs to power Vero (9-1) in the win.

South Fork 9, Fort Pierce Westwood 1: Conner Wiggins went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Steve Perez drove in two runs to lead the Bulldogs (9-2) in the win. Ian Wilson went 5 1/3 innings and scattered four hits to pick up the win on the mound for South Fork.

Sebastian River 5, Port St. Lucie 4: Connor Nightingale went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI and threw the final 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to pick up the win for the Sharks (4-6). Christian Snow had a double and an RBI, Caleb Cotton had a hit and an RBI, Zach Santiso had a double and stole four bases and Kix Hofer struck out six in 4 1/3 innings for Sebastian River.

Connor Cantillo had a double and three RBI, Juan Navarro had a double and an RBI and Ian Everett and Joesph Holland picked up two hits in the loss for Port St. Lucie.

Softball

Treasure Coast 6, Fort Pierce Central 5: Isabella Echevarria went 2-for-2 with a double and five RBI as the Titans (5-3) used a five-run sixth inning to rally for a comeback victory. Jailene Belmont and Brylea Rusler each had a hit and an RBI and Rusler struck out six in three innings of relief to pick up the win in the circle for Treasure Coast.

Martin County 24, Fort Pierce Westwood 0 (4 innings): Bayli Legg went 3-for-3 with two doubles and six RBI to lead the Tigers (4-2) to victory. Mary Polak went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI, Kyla Timmerman went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI and Cecilia Galeas drove in three runs for Martin County.

Boys Lacrosse

Martin County 13, Park Vista 2: Will Schilling scored four goals and assisted on two more to lead the way for the Tigers (5-1). Carson Moore and Jaxson Sellick each scored three goals, Jayden Vega, Thomas McIntyre and Jacob Carbo added one goal apiece and Sellick tallied three assists for Martin County.

Dwyer 10, South Fork 2: Patrick Martin and Dewey Gosselin scored one goal each and Michael Hirt made 10 saves in goal for South Fork.

Girls Lacrosse

Jensen Beach 15, St. Edward's 12: Tatum Swope scored six goals to lead the Falcons (8-1) to a road victory. Sophie Knippel scored four goals, Meg Schoppe added three goals, Ashley Dunnuck and Zoe Valdevenito scored one goal each and Grace Thomas made 10 saves in goal for Jensen Beach.

Martin County 13, Dwyer 9: Sydney Steckler scored four goals to lead the Tigers (2-6) to a win on Senior Night. Hannah White and Camryn Debian each added three goals and Samantha Burvenich made 18 saves in goal for Martin County.
