HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Unbeaten Pembroke boys soccer hands Hingham its first loss

In a battle of unbeaten Patriot League powerhouses, the Pembroke High boys soccer team topped Hingham, 2-0, on the road on Tuesday.

Junior Wil McManus and senior captain Andrew Gleason scored for the Titans (10-0 overall, 9-0 Patriot League). Senior captain Ethan Sullivan provided both of the assists.

Senior goalkeeper Jack Taylor and the back line of sophomore Jack Duperre, junior Joe D’Angelo, senior captain Owen Kane and junior Quinn Reilly kept Hingham (8-1-3) off the scoresheet.

BOYS SOCCER

Abington 1, Rockland 1: Trevor Grafton (penalty kick) scored for Abington (7-3-1) in the South Shore League tie. James McCrorey had the goal for Rockland (8-3-2), which got strong games from back Dylan Miller and goalkeeper Kellen Porter.

Plymouth North 2, Scituate 1: Malachai Val and Liam Hewins scored for the Blue Eagles (6-1-3). Bradlee Sorensen (assist), Dominic Sorensen and Colin Perec Riley also played well.

Quincy 5, Whitman-Hanson 2: Jackson Preskins and Pablo Da Rocha Silva scored for the Panthers (3-8) in the loss. Devin Walsh and Cam Reader played well defensively. The Presidents improved to 4-6-1.

Marshfield 6, Plymouth South 0: Colby Holbert tallied five goals before exiting the game in the 60th minute for the Rams (7-2-1). Dolan Healy scored the other goal, his first on varsity, while Eamon Hume recorded his third straight shutout.

Silver Lake 3, North Quincy 0: Andrew Palma (2 goals, assist) and Logan Harrington (goal, 2 assists) led the Lakers (6-4-1). Goalkeeper Collin Lawless posted his first varsity shutout.

Hanover 5, Duxbury 2: Tyler Richards, Aiden Richards, Brian Bellerby, Noah Hofeman and Ned McCann scored for the Hawks (6-5-2, 5-5-1 Patriot League).

Milton 1, Braintree 0: Chris Rhoden scored, and goalkeeper Ian Wick made nine saves for the shutout as the Wildcats (3-4-4) edged the Wamps (7-5-1) in Bay State Conference action.

West Bridgewater 1, Holbrook 0: Senior captain Drew Raphel scored off a corner kick from senior captain Ryan Estrella, and eighth-grade goalkeeper Nick Navin earned his third shutout of the season for the Wildcats (7-2-2, 3-0-2 Mayflower).

BC High 3, Malden Catholic 0: Matt Studley, Paul Pierre and Del Dibona scored for the Eagles (6-5-1). Brendan Lambe also had a strong game. 

Randolph 5, Bristol-Plymouth 2: Jonas Norsica scored four goals, and Angelot Brun also found the net for the Blue Devils (5-4-2).

East Bridgewater 3, Hull 1: Grady Dewhurst tallied two goals while Anthony Patete stopped 15 shots.

Bishop Feehan 4, Cardinal Spellman 1: Nate Monteiro scored for the Cardinals in the loss. Ben Clark and Caleb Green played well.

Oliver Ames 2, King Philip 0: On Monday, Casey Milliken scored twice in the second half, giving him 12 goals on the season, as the Tigers (9-0-2) won on the road. OA goalkeeper Drew Hall recorded his seventh shutout of the season, with help from Diego Riveira, Jake Williams, Hector Bucio, Jackson Mercieri and Luke Churchill.

GIRLS SOCCER

Cohasset 1, Norwell 1: Cat Herman scored off a Tess Barrett set piece in the second half as visiting Cohasset (7-1-2) rallied for a South Shore League tie. Goalkeeper Tessa Curatola had a strong game for the Skippers. Eden Wheeler scored for Norwell (5-1-6).

Hingham 4, Pembroke 0: Claire Murray scored twice, and Sophie Reale and Emily Gibbons added goals for the Harborwomen (10-0-2). Ava Varholak had three assists, and Reale had two.

Marshfield 6, Plymouth South 0: Sammy Zaslaw scored four goals, and Mya D’Antonio and Abby Brooks also scored as the Rams (6-4-1) won on Senior Night. Goalkeeper Syd Sheehan had the clean sheet.

Avon 1, Westport 0: Hanelie Cadet scored off a cross from Kate Austrino for Avon (6-4). Dahlia Parent was a defensive standout, and goalkeeper Micaella Gomes made six saves.

Blue Hills 2, Diman 1: Allyson Johnson (Holbrook) and Rose Ferguson (Holbrook) scored for the Warriors (7-0-2). Kathleen Murphy and Emily Lehane (Braintree) had assists.

Scituate 1, Plymouth North 0: Emmy Easterly scored, assisted by Lindsey Haussman, and goalkeeper Brenna Donovan posted her second straight shutout for the Sailors (4-5-1). Tess Railton was a defensive standout.

Quincy 9, Fontbonne Academy 0: Mairead Folan and Eliza Henry each scored twice, and Grace Connor, Caroline Campbell, Ciara Golden, Gabby Triplett and Caroline Tracey added goals for the Presidents (4-7).

West Bridgewater 5, Holbrook 2: Kylie Fuller had a hat trick and an assist, and Rachael Geniuch scored twice.  Amanda Jacques added two assists, and Aly Bassett, Chloe Hulme and keeper Kerri Gomes were strong defensively. In Monday's 3-1 win over Rockland, Fuller had two goals, and Geniuch added one.

Silver Lake 1, North Quincy 0: Avery DePaul scored, assisted by Ania Ricci, for the visiting Lakers (5-2-4). Goalkeeper Abbey Cook recorded the shutout.

Braintree 2, Milton 0: Ciara Horan and Neilie Tuite scored, and goalkeeper Jackie McGonigle recorded her sixth shutout of the season for the visiting Wamps (5-5-3).

Weymouth 1, Walpole 1: The Wildcats (4-4-2) played to a Bay State Conference tie.

Archbishop Williams 7, Arlington Catholic 0: The visiting Bishops (9-3) qualified for the Div. 3 tournament.

Bishop Feehan 8, Cardinal Spellman 2: Emma Pero scored both goals in the loss.

Bridgewater-Raynham 2, Attleboro 1: On Monday, Cori Cahill made seven saves while Lily Ford tallied two goals.

FIELD HOCKEY

Hanover 5, Whitman-Hanson 0: Katie Radzik scored a hat trick while Riley Worral and Sophia Marshall-Pelayo had solo tallies for the Hawks (7-2-2). Mae Buchanan had two assists and Olivia Campo recorded a three-save shutout. Hannah Battell, Lillie Mackinnon and Brooklyn Uzzell played well for W-H.

Hingham 4, Plymouth South 0: Lily Ehler scored twice as the Harborwomen (10-1, 8-0 Patriot League) blanked the Panthers. Ella O’Neill (goal, assist), Sam Ruddick (goal) and Stella Brazis (3 assists) also starred.

St. John Paul II 3, Carver 0: Ashleigh Johnson, Izzy Mercer and Alli Thomas played well for Carver in the loss. Goalkeeper Ali Perry made 11 saves.

West Bridgewater 1, Westport 0: Olivia Razza scored the goal for the Wildcats.

Silver Lake 4, Duxbury 0: Emily Benson, Julia Caggiano, Alex Bliss and Alannah Waters scored for the Lakers.

Braintree 3, Norwood 1: The Wamps (10-2) won at home.

Middleboro 2, Marshfield 0: On Monday, Madison Ryder and Delaney Blanchette scored in the win.

Sandwich 5, Whitman-Hanson 0: On Monday, Brooklyn Uzzell, Lauren O’Neill, Paige Cosgrove, Maddy Geagan, and goalie Reagan Heath played well defensively in the loss.

BOYS GOLF

Scituate 244, North Quincy 256: Andrew Belsan was low medalist with a 36 at Presidents Golf Course as the Sailors (15-2) clinched the Patriot League Fisher Division title. Jett Rehm shot 40 in his first varsity match. Zach Fernandes (41), Stephen Marshall (41), Ryan Martin (43) and Jake Linell (43 in his first varsity match) also contributed for Scituate.

Hanover 234, Quincy 300: Junior captain Chris Doherty shot 1-under 34, and junior Matt Reynolds shot 2-over 37 to power the Hawks to a win at Harmon Golf Club. Senior captain Liam Monahan carded 3-over 38. Quincy's Teddy Lynch shot 43.

Duxbury 235, Marshfield 251: Tom Greenwood shot 4-under-par 32 with four birdies and five pars to lead the Dragons to a win at Duxbury Yacht Club. Devin Kenneally (37), Ryan Sherwood (39), Henry Macquarrie (41) and Jack Cressnan (41) also starred. For Marshfield, T.D. Ambrose shot 38, and Nate O'Brien shot 39.

East Bridgewater 133, Cohasset 75: The Vikings capped off a 14-0 season with their best round of the year. Jake Redder was medalist with a 1-over round, good for 26 points, and Cole Redder (2-over, 25 points) and Matt Werra (4-over, 23 points) also played well.

Norwell 115, Middleboro 91: Senior captain Matt Dassatti shot even-par 35 at Scituate Country Club to lead the Clippers (11-2) to a win. Senior captain Griffin Link shot 37.

Abington 135, Carver 118: Hunter Grafton (27 points), Jacob Quinn (26) and Evan St. Martin (23) led the Green Wave to a win. For Carver, captain Ryan Vincent tied for medalist honors with an even-par round good for 27 points. Ed Ramsdell scored 10 points, and Zack Thevenin added 4. 

Plymouth North 244, Whitman-Hanson 286: Sophomore Cooper Britton led W-H (2-13) in the road loss.

Bridgewater-Raynham wins Sullivan Tournament: The Trojans came out on top in the seven-team Sullivan Golf Tournament at D.W. Field Golf Course. Justin Peters was the individual medalist with a 71, while Richie Thayer tied for second with a 73. Pat Concannon carded an 82.

Braintree 86, Milton 71: On Monday, freshman Peter Brooks and senior Nick Fasano each 1-over 37 at Braintree Municipal Golf Course to lead the Wamps (6-6).

Hingham 3, Notre Dame Academy 1: Alex Kennedy starred as the Harborwomen (10-4) won the town battle, 25-19, 27-25, 18-25, 25-22. NDA (6-7) was led by Mallory McCarthy (8 service points, 4 aces, 7 kills), Ava Orlando (8 service points, 4 digs), Grace Burgoyne (10 kills, 5 blocks) and Olivia Flaherty (11 service points, 3 aces, 16 kills).

Oliver Ames 3, Milford 0: The Tigers earned the sweep (25-12, 25-19, 25-22) behind strong matches from Paula Romero, Maddie Homer (19 digs), Sarah Hilliard (13 kills) and Ava Barth (18 service points, 6 aces).

West Bridgewater 3, Pembroke 2: The Wildcats (11-2) picked up their ninth straight win, rallying 19-25, 10-25, 30-28, 25-18, 15-10.

Scituate 3 East Bridgewater 2: The Sailors won, 19-25, 25-11, 25-23, 19-25, 15-6.

Milton 3, Braintree 0: The Wildcats (7-4) beat the Wamps in Bay State Conference action.

Norwell 3, Hanover 2: On Monday, the Clippers (9-2) won a five-set thriller, 25-21, 25-17, 27-25, 25-23, 15-10. Izzy Woodman (11 kills, 6 digs, 6 aces) and Hedi Murphy (11 assists, 5 aces, 3 digs) starred for Norwell. Kaelyn Chase and Mary Elliot each had 8 kills for Hanover.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

Archbishop Williams 15, Cardinal Spellman 50: Maddie Hussey won the 3-mile race at Pond Meadow Park in 21:02 for the Bishops (4-1). Williams swept the top five spots as Hussey was followed by teammates Lily Donovan (2nd, 21:52), Millie Hynes (3rd, 21:58), Abby Bemis (4th, 22:09) and Isabella Zhang (5th, 22:30). Senior captain Kira Lawson (22:44) led the Cardinals.

Whitman-Hanson 24, Duxbury 31: Junior Sky Bucci-Anderson won the 2.85-mile race in 19:04 for the visiting Panthers (3-3). Sophomore teammate McKenna McCarthy was second in 19:46.

Brockton 15, New Bedford 50: The Boxers won on Senior Day.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Archbishop Williams 15, Cardinal Spellman 50: Gianvito Montillo won the 3-mile race at Pond Meadow Park in 16:44 for the Bishops (3-2), setting a new school record for the 15-year-old course. Williams swept the top five spots as Montillo was followed by teammates Eamonn Fennell (2nd, 18:11), Evan O'Brien (3rd, 18:13), Nick Antonellis (4th, 18:49) and Nolan Stone (5th, 19:16). James Roper (19:55) led the Cardinals.

Duxbury 15, Whitman-Hanson 45: The host Green Dragons swept the top six places in the 2.85-mile race. Alex Kehayias (6th, 17.37) was W-H's top finisher.

Brockton 15, New Bedford 44: The Boxers won on Senior Day.
