High School Sports: Schedules, results as girls basketball enters Winter sports postseason
Girls basketball joins soccer, weightlifting, and competitive cheer in the postseason. This week is dedicated to district playoff games.
Half of the soccer teams were eliminated last week and the rest are gearing up for district title games this week. Forest boys and girls could take title wins by Tuesday.
Girls Weightlifting takes centerstage Thursday and Friday to decide regional champions and state qualifiers. Competitive Cheer hits the mat Friday and Saturday to decide state champions.

North Marion defeats Eastside 53-29
The Colts move onto the second round of the Class 4A, District 5 tournament.
Vanguard defeats Leesburg 45-19
The Knights advance to the second round of 5A District 5 tournament. Junior Makiya Mitchell scored a game-high 17 points. Jyla Gunsby stuffed the stat sheet with six points, five rebounds, five assists, two steals, and two blocks. Sophomore Aniyah Hope tied a season-high 14 rebounds, to pair with two steals and three blocks.
