Men's soccer

NPSL adds Cedar Stars

The National Premier Soccer League has added the Chester-based Cedar Stars FC as an expansion team for 2022. The team will play its home matches at Faller Field, located on the campus of Middletown High School.

Cedar Stars will play in the NPSL East Region. Though not specified, it's likely the new franchise would play in the North Atlantic Conference along with Kingston Stockade, Boston City, Greater Lowell Rough Diamonds, Hartford City, New York Shockers and Valeo.

Additional expansion teams include Akron City; Apotheos; Corinthians of San Antonio; Grove Soccer United; Jackson Lions; Lubbock Matadors; Pennsylvania Classics; and, Brave Lions.

Cedar Stars Academy, established in 2011, is led by owner and president George Altirs, vice president and sporting director Anthony Nixon and general manager Jim Lagarde. CSA has more than 2,500 male and female athletes involved in its programs, including MLS Next and GA leagues and international teams in Germany, Ghana and Denmark.

College hockey

Army adds game with Penn State

Penn State of the Big Ten Conference will visit West Point's Tate Rink at 5 p.m. Saturday. The Nittany Lions last visited West Point in the 2012-13 season. The teams have met five times with Army holding a 3-2 edge.

College football

Army's Tuitele to Fresno State

Army offensive line coach and run game coordinator Saga Tuitele has been hired as offensive line coach at Fresno State. He worked for West Point the past two seasons.
