High School Sports Update: Track, soccer, baseball, softball

GIRLS SOCCER

LAKE VIEW 1, ESTACADO 0

Jazmyne Flores scored with less than two minutes remaining in the first half to give the Maidens a 1-0 victory and clinch the District 2-4A championship on Friday in Lubbock.

Jennifer Mata had eight saves in goal. The Maidens are 10-1 in District 2-4A.

LAKE VIEW 6, ANDREWS 0

Ally Flores scored four goals and Jazmyne Flores added two more as the Maidens continued to roll in District 2-4A play after a shutout win against Andrews.

Faith Miller added two assists, and Alyssa DeLaCruz and Alexis Garcia each added one. Jennifer Mata made three save along with the shoutout. The Maidens are 9-1 in district play and 14-3-3 overall.

BOYS SOCCER

LAKE VIEW 3, LUBBOCK ESTACADO 2

The Chiefs rallied with two goals in the second half to defeat the Matadors 3-2 in a District 2-4A game on Friday in Lubbock.

Christian Gatlin, Francisco Ramirez and Jv Antu each scored for Lake View as Gatlin and Ace Perez added assists.

"This was a defining moment for this team," said Lake View coach Kyle Jones. "To battle back from two goals down against a good Estacado team was and playing with nine players due to two red cards and 10 minutes shows the resolve this team has and that we are ready for the playoffs."

Lake View is 19-0-1 on the season and 11-0 in district play.

The Central girls finished tied for second in the team standings with 66 points.
