HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: Lady Eagles fall at home; Berea wins on road

Aug. 24—The Lady Eagles (1-1) suffered a hard-fought 3-1 loss at home on Tuesday to Boyle County.

The Lady Rebels won by scores of 26-24, 25-21, 21-25, 27-25.

Julia Bingham had 16 kills, 15 digs and three blocks for Madison Southern. Reagan Burns had 21 digs, 16 assists, a kill and an ace.

Bre Dawes finished with 15 digs and nine aces. Jordyn Walker had nine assists four digs, three kills, an ace and a block. Abby McMullin had seven digs, one kill and one ace. Addy Spalding finished with six digs and three kills.

Abby Dees had two kills, two blocks and two digs. Sierra Johnson had six digs. Gracie Anglin had three digs. Amber Short and Anna Seals had two digs each.

Southern is set to return to action Thursday at Lincoln County.

Berea battles back

The Lady Pirates (2-2) battled back from a set down twice to earn a 3-2 win Tuesday on the road against Burgin (0-3).

Berea Community won by scores of 22-25, 25-21, 25-9, 21-25, 15-5.

Trinity Hannon led the way for the Lady Pirates with 20 digs. Kayley Harrison had 10 digs, seven aces and seven kills.

Taylor Johnson had 10 assists, 10 digs, four kills and three aces. Chesney Lovins had eight digs, seven kills and two aces. Kadence Bertotto had six kills, three digs and three aces.

Katrina Clark and Keylee Dixon had eight digs each.

Ada Fouch finished with eight digs, seven kills and five aces. Aya Fouch had seven digs, six aces and six kills, while Mackenzie Strong had eight kills, four aces and three digs.

Berea is set to return to action Thursday at home against Frankfort Christian.
