HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: Southern snaps skid with win over Model

The Lady Eagles (5-10) snapped a four-match losing streak with a 3-0 win Wednesday over 44th District rival Model Laboratory in Richmond.

Madison Southern won by scores of 25-5, 25-15 and 25-12.

Julia Bingham had 15 kills, 13 aces and seven digs, while Reagan Burns had 18 assists, six aces and six digs.

"We've been kind of up and down," Madison Southern coach Jeremy Grant said. "Inconsistency has been a problem, but I like what I saw tonight."

Bre Dawes had 18 digs for the Lady Eagles. Jordyn Walker had 10 assists, seven digs, three aces and one kill. Abby Dees had four aces and four kills.

Campbelle Price had four kills and three digs. Addy Spaulding had three digs and two kills. Anna Seals had six digs. Amber Short and Lindsey St. John had one kill each. Katelyn Bolin had two digs and one ace, while Sierra Johnson and Gracie Anglin had two digs each.

Southern is set to return to action Monday at home against Lincoln County.

Model (2-12) is set to return to action today against Sayre.

Berea falls

The Lady Pirates suffered a 3-2 loss to Jackson County on Tuesday in McKee.

Berea Community fell by scores of 23-25, 25-13, 25-22, 14-25 and 15-9.

The loss was the third-straight for the Lady Pirates (4-7).

Trinity Hannon had 17 digs and four kills. Taylor Johnson had 20 assists, three kills and two aces. Adia Fouch had 15 digs and five kills. Kadence Bertotto had nine kills and three digs.

Kayley Harrison had seven aces, two blocks and four kills.

Aya Fouch had 14 digs. Keylee Dixon had 12 digs. Katrina Clark had five digs.

Berea is set to return to action Monday against Trinity Christian.
