High Spirits at Trump’s Nashua Watch Party

NASHUA, N.H. (NEXSTAR) – Energy was high in Nashua as voters gathered and awaited the results of the first-in-the-nation primary. Coming into primary day, this was a two-way race between former President Donald Trump and former U.N. Ambassador and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.

The last three polls in the race had the former president winning New Hampshire’s primary by more than 15 points.

This kept supporters hopeful for Trump to come out on top not only in the primary, but on the final ballot as well. “Not only do I think he’s gonna make it to the final ballot, I think he’ll win by a landslide,” said supporter Lucas Federico.

Trump supporters showed up in Nashua knowing that if the former president defeated Haley, either she’d quit the race or  the two might be on a collision course in Haley’s home state of South Carolina.

Primary night, Haley maintained that she wasn’t quitting just yet but that is no matter to people who support “Trump”.

“I am voting for Donald Trump because I believe that he has the country at his heart,” said Sheila Tripodi. “I trust him. I trust in his policies, I trust in his belief system that he is developing.”
