Heavy rain and tropical storm-force winds were reported in the Dominican Republic as Tropical Storm Isaias moved over the Caribbean on Thursday, July 30.
At 2 pm Thursday, Isaias was located 95 miles west-northwest of Punta Cana with maximum sustained winds near 60 mph, reports said.
Forecasts predicted the storm would affect the Bahamas and Florida on Friday and Saturday. A tropical storm warning for the Dominican Republic remained in effect.
