Wednesday, Feb. 14

McKendree University annual Career Fair — 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hettenhausen Center for the Arts, 400 N. Alton St., Lebanon. This event will host 87 employers consisting of companies, organizations, school districts and graduate schools, and it is open to all students, alumni and job seekers. Attendees should wear business attire and can reach out to Career Services at careerservices@mckendree.edu to schedule an appointment for Bogey’s Career Closet so they may choose four free professional clothing items each year. Students should also introduce themselves and provide employers with information about their major, skills and experience. Thursday, Feb. 15

Cahokia Archaeological Society — 5:30-6:30 p.m. Collinsville Public Library, 408 W. Main St., Collinsville. The program, entitled, “History of River Travel on the Middle Mississippi River, 8000 B.C. to A.D. 1850,” will be presented by Dr. F. Terry Norris, who was the District Archaeologist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District, from 1977 until his retirement in 2012. During the past 45 years, he has conducted numerous investigations on both prehistoric and historic period archaeological sites in the Midwest. Both the meeting and the program are free and open to the public.

‘Ice Jam at the Dam’ Winter Festival — 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. National Great Rivers Museum, 1 Locks and Dam Way, Alton. This event will highlight winter experiences that can be had along the river, along with winter-themed movies, live music, animal shows, and more.
