HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland Auxiliary awards $4,000 in scholarships to area students

HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland Auxiliary scholarship committee recently awarded two $2,000 scholarships to area students through the annual HSHS St. Joseph’s Auxiliary Scholarship program. Both recipients are Highland High School graduates and Highland residents who have been accepted into their college’s medical program.

The recipients are:

  • Addison Crask: She plans to attend Miami University in Oxford, Ohio to earn a Bachelor of Science in pediatric nursing.

  • Raeghan Henrichs: She will be attending McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois with plans to become an occupational therapist.

Chosen from a field of outstanding applicants, each has been awarded a $2,000 college scholarship. The funds are sent directly to the school the winner is attending to be used toward tuition, fees and books.

The scholarship award is made based on several guidelines including academic merit, community involvement, volunteerism, personal statement, and letter of acceptance into a medical program at an accredited institution.

The St. Joseph’s Auxiliary scholarship committee is proud to offer these scholarships to support the educational goals of local students and to continue to grow the health care professionals of the future for this region. The committee expresses their gratitude to the Auxiliary members who have helped with various fundraisers which allows the organization to continue to fund the scholarship awards.

For more information regarding Auxiliary activities and opportunities, contact Rebecca Niemerg, coordinator of mission integration and spiritual care, at rebecca.niemerg@hshs.org.
