A flurry of big-name central and southern Indiana concert announcements made in the last week may just cure any lingering blues after the COVID-19 pandemic's impact on the local show scene, particularly for rock fans.

Here's a quick wrap-up of some of the latest marquee shows announced for 2022.

Jack Johnson

On Monday, purveyor of acoustic chill Jack Johnson announced a July 3 show at Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville.

Tickets go on sale Friday for the general public. The show is of particular local interest, as Bloomington's own Durand Jones & The Indications will open for Johnson.

Haim

Southern California sister rock act Haim will play TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park on June 1, the band announced Monday.

The tour will support the Grammy-nominated album "Women in Music Pt. III," released just after the onset of the pandemic in 2020.

Tickets are on sale Friday.

'Weird Al' Yankovic

Last week, parody king "Weird Al" Yankovic announced a May 21 concert at Brown County Music Center.

However, it's important to note the performance will not focus on his breakout comedy hits, but rather stripped-down original compositions taken from 14 studio albums worth of back catalog material. It will also feature increased variance in the setlist from night to night.

Yankovic embarked on a similar tour in 2019. Tickets for the upcoming show will be available Friday.

Styx and REO Speedwagon

Classic rock fans should take note of a June 10 Styx and REO Speedwagon co-headlining show at Ruoff. Loverboy will open.

The tour name, "Live & UnZoomed," is lightheartedly based on pandemic realities that saw Styx frontman Tommy Shaw and REO Speedwagon frontman Kevin Cronin perform together remotely on several occasions.

Tickets go on sale -- if you have not yet noticed the pattern -- on Friday.

Chicago and Brian Wilson

If you'd like to take it back even a few more years, classic rockers Chicago and Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson, joined by fellow founder Al Jardine and former member Blondie Chaplin, will perform July 20 at Ruoff.

Dispatch and O.A.R.

Popular jam band Dispatch will join rockers O.A.R. for an Aug. 9 co-headlining show at TCU Amphitheater. Robert Randolph & The Family Band will open.

Tickets will go on sale Friday.
