A stretch of Highway 101 in Ventura is scheduled to be closed overnight this weekend, starting late Saturday, for pavement work.

Northbound lanes from Victoria Avenue to Telephone Road will be shut, according to Caltrans, the state transportation department.

On the southbound side, lanes will be closed from Main Street to Telephone Road.

The freeway closure is slated from 11:59 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday.

Northbound drivers will be detoured along Victoria Avenue to westbound Highway 126, then back to the 101.

Southbound motorists will be routed to eastbound Highway 126 and take southbound Victoria Avenue to Highway 101.

Onramps and offramps in the area will also be impacted, with closures possible from 7 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday.

The shutdown will allow workers to remove and replace pavement slabs, Caltrans officials said.
