A section of Highway 150 north of Santa Paula has been reduced to a single lane due to storm-related damage from a landslide, Caltrans officials said in a news release.

As of midday Saturday, drivers were being allowed through the open lane on an alternating basis. The closure was expected at least through Sunday, the agency said on X, formerly Twitter.

"Growing damage" from a landslide undermined the two-lane route along Santa Paula Creek, about a quarter mile south of Thomas Aquinas College, Caltrans reported.

The activity initially closed a 12-mile stretch of the highway for several hours Friday night, starting around 7:30 p.m., between Reeves Road near Ojai to Stonegate Road in Santa Paula.

By 9:45 p.m. Friday, the road had reopened with the single-lane restriction in place near the creek.

More rain, including some heavy downpours, are expected in Ventura County starting Sunday night.

Drivers can find roadway status updates on the Caltrans District 7 feed at twitter.com/CaltransDist7.
