Highway 152 in Madera County reopened after multiple crashes reported Friday morning

A section of Highway 152 in Madera County was reopened around 1:30 p.m. Friday, after being closed for several hours due to multiple collisions, according to the California Highway Patrol website.

Details about those crashes are preliminary, but according to the CHP at least one of those incidents was fatal.

Highway 152 was closed between Highway 99 and Highway 59. Heavy fog was reported throughout the region Friday morning, leaving some drivers with only a few feet of visability.

The confirmed fatal incident was a multi-car collision reported on Highway 152 just west of Fairmead around 8:30 a.m. , according to the California Highway Patrol website.

According to the CHP website, a white sedan collided with a semi truck pulling a gray trailer at 8:37 a.m..

Around 8:45 a.m. that initial collision resulting in at least five more vehicles being involved.

Another accident was reported just after 10 a.m. when a blue Honda CR-V rear-ended another vehicle.

A third accident involving a white Toyota Prius was reported just before 10:30 a.m.
