Highway 99 reopened after police activity shut down both directions
(FOX40.COM) — All lanes in Highway 99 in Elk Grove are reopened after being closed in both directions for nearly an hour on Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Around 9:54 a.m., Caltrans announced lanes in both directions were shut down due to police activity and were urging motorists to use Interstate 5 as an alternate route.

The CHP was diverting traffic is being off at Elk Grove Boulevard.
The CHP announced that all lanes were reopened at 10:40 a.m.
The Cosumnes Fire Department assisted the Elk Grove Police and the CHP on Highway 99 on Thursday morning.
