A hiker who disappeared on California’s Mt. Baldy over the weekend has been found alive by searchers, while actor Julian Sands remains missing, officials said.

Jin Chung, 75, was hospitalized with “some weather-related injuries and a leg injury” after being discovered Tuesday afternoon, the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department announced late Tuesday. Chung, who is from Los Angeles, was able to walk with the help of officials.

Chung was reported missing after he separated from his group Sunday morning and didn’t return to a designated meet-up point, according to authorities.

The sheriff’s department said Sands remains unaccounted for, nearly two weeks after his wife, Eugenia Citkowitz, reported him missing on Mt. Baldy on Jan. 13.

“Numerous ground and air search efforts have taken place,” the sheriff’s department said Tuesday night. “As of this time, Mr. Sands has not been found and no evidence of his current location has been discovered. The search will continue, weather and ground conditions permitting.”

Conditions including snow, ice and wind have complicated the search for the 65-year-old actor, who is known for films such as “A Room with a View” and “Leaving Las Vegas.” Mt. Baldy is about 45 miles northwest of Los Angeles.

“I know in my heart that he has gone,” the actor’s brother, Nick Sands, told the English newspaper Craven Herald & Pioneer in an interview published Tuesday. “However sibling rivalry being what it is, it would be just like him to walk out of there and prove me wrong.”
