On Monday, the Park Service reported Berry was found in a remote, off-trail area in the northern portion of the park.

He intended to complete a day hike out of Dog Canyon and shared his plans with his family.

When Berry didn’t return as expected and check into a hotel on Thursday night, the Park Service’s search and rescue team was notified and the search began.
