Hillary Clinton announced on Tuesday that she had tested positive for Covid-19.

“I’ve got some mild cold symptoms but am feeling fine,” Clinton, the onetime Democratic presidential nominee and former secretary of State and U.S. senator, said on Twitter. “I’m more grateful than ever for the protection vaccines can provide against serious illness. Please get vaccinated and boosted if you haven’t already!”

Clinton also said that her husband, former President Bill Clinton, had “tested negative and is feeling fine.”

“He’s quarantining until our household is fully in the clear. Movie recommendations appreciated!” she said in a tweet.

Clinton’s announcement comes amid a string of positive Covid results from prominent figures in the last few weeks — including White House press secretary Jen Psaki, former President Barack Obama and second gentleman Doug Emhoff. Though overall Covid cases in the U.S. have fallen, the uptick in cases in Europe of the BA.2 variant of the coronavirus could indicate a similar outbreak in the U.S.
