Hillenbrand: Fiscal 4Q Earnings Snapshot

BATESVILLE, Ind. (AP) _ Hillenbrand Inc. (HI) on Wednesday reported a fiscal fourth-quarter loss of $7.1 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Batesville, Indiana-based company said it had a loss of 9 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 92 cents per share.

The diversified industrial company specializing in business-to-business products posted revenue of $693.7 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported a loss of $60.1 million, or 82 cents per share, swinging to a loss in the period. Revenue was reported as $2.52 billion.

For the current quarter ending in January, Hillenbrand expects its per-share earnings to range from 65 cents to 75 cents.

Hillenbrand shares have fallen almost 3% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $32.45, a decrease of 0.5% in the last 12 months.
