Hillsdale Academy Golf opens SCAA play with Jackson Christian Jamboree

HILLSDALE — The Hillsdale Academy boys golf team were able to find cooperating weather conditions for their first SCAA jamboree of the season. The Colts traveled to Jackson's Ella Sharp Golf Course for the jamboree, which was hosted by Jackson Christian. The Colts entered the match as last year's conference champions and state qualifiers as a team. Rolla Frisinger is the new head coach of the Colts this year, taking over for former head coach Charlie Blood. Brent Falke returns as the assistant coach.

Hillsdale Academy won the team final score, finishing with a final total of 180. Lenawee Christian came in second with 183, and Jackson Christian finished with a final total of 204. Will Carleton Academy shot a 206 as a team. Colon shot 212. Climax-Scotts shot 219. Battle Creek St. Phillip finished with a total of 236. Burr Oak finished with a 259 final score.

Winning the jamboree was Rykert Frisinger of Hillsdale Academy, who shot a 40 final score. Nick Stuart of Lenawee Christian came in second with a final total of 42. Ridley Fast of Hillsdale Academy took third with a final total of 43. Braden Roosevelt of Battle Creek St. Phillip shot a 44. Simon Vinson of Colon and Brogan Winder of Lenawee Christian shot 45 each. Jonathan Locke of Jackson Christian and Flavio Hernandez of Burr Oak each shot 47. Lance Smith of Climax-Scotts shot 48. Conner Parisien of Lenawee Christian shot 48. Kahle Welden of Hillsdale Academy shot 48. Nate Jeffords of Lenawee Christian shot a 48. Tyler Sanders of Will Carleton Academy shot a 48. Jacobus Keggereis of Lenawee Christian shot a 48.

It was a strong start to the season for all SCAA competing schools. For Hillsdale Academy, they will look to be back on the greens this Wednesday for the East Jackson Invitational. The event will be held at Calderone golf course. Calderone is located in Grass Lake off of I-94. The course offers four par threes and several par fives. Game action gets started at 9 a.m.

The next SCAA conference match will be held at Binder Park on May 2.
