Hillsdale boys golf finishes top 3 at Dundee Jamboree

DUNDEE — The Dundee varsity boys golf team were hosts of an LCAA jamboree take took place the afternoon of Wednesday, May 4. Several teams from the league participated in the nine-hole event.

The jamboree was held at Deme Acres, an 18-hole course located in Petersburg, Michigan. The 70-par course first opened in 1962. The course is known for it's wide fairways and it's par 3 hole 14.

The Hillsdale varsity boys golf team competed against their league rivals at the jamboree. The Hornets earned their second top-three finish in league jamborees. The Hornets had a final total of 171 as a team, good enough for third place. The Hornets were able to capture second place in their previous league jamboree and many Hornets continued to have improved scores.

Grant Alley led the way for the Hornets, shooting a final score of 39. Joseph Miller shot a final score of 42, improving from his final total of 48 in the previous jamboree. Jack Granata shot a 44, maintaining his recent pace. Brody Young finished the jamboree with a final total score of 46.

The jamboree marks the end of competition for this week. The Hornets will be back in action next Wednesday at the Hudson Jamboree. Tee-time is currently scheduled for 3 p.m. Hillsdale Academy will host an invitational that Friday, May 13. A time has yet to be determined for the contest.
