The HCPD did not disclose the extent of injuries Stiverson sustained in the crash.

The operator of the Nissan passenger car was out walking around and speaking with emergency responders while awaiting the arrival of a second ambulance from Hudson EMS.

Stiverson was elected to the bench in November 2020 and took office Jan. 1, 2021, when Judge Sara S. Lisznyai ran an unopposed campaign for the circuit court bench in the wake of the retirement of long-serving Judge Michael R. Smith. Stiverson previously served as the chief assistant prosecutor for Hillsdale County.
