Hillsdale County sheriff’s deputies investigating fatal crash in Camden Township

CAMDEN TWP. — The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash that claimed the lives of two people late Friday morning in the southwest corner of the county.

Deputies were dispatched at 10:40 a.m. to the intersection of Territorial and Mead roads and, upon arrival, confirmed there were two fatalities.

A preliminary investigation showed that a 2008 Ford Explorer Sport Trac was traveling northbound on Mead Road, entered the intersection with Territorial Road, and collided with a tractor-trailer operated by 53-year-old Gerarado Rodriguez of Batesville, Texas.

Both occupants of the Explorer were pronounced deceased; deputies are withholding their names pending notification of next of kin.

No other information on the crash has been released.

Deputies were assisted on scene by Reading Emergency Unit, the Montgomery Fire Department, Camden Fire Department and Woodbridge Township Fire Department.
