CRESCENDO
Crescendo is now in full swing and closes triumphantly with the Hilton Head Island Lantern Parade on Saturday, Nov. 18. The only requirement to participate is having a lantern. Attendees need to just show up! Lineup for the parade begins at 5 p.m. at the Alder Lane Beach Access. The parade will step off at 5:45 p.m., right after sunset, and travel north along South Forest Beach up to Coligny Beach Park. From there, the parade continues through the Coligny Beach Park access and around the circle to conclude at Lowcountry Celebration Park.
PRE- AND POST-PARADE ACTIVITIES
3 p.m.: Come early and gather with neighbors and fellow parade participants at Loggerhead Landing (entrance off Alder Beach access/Marriott Grande Ocean) for lantern making, face painting, and live music by Darryl Van Horn (Da Sole Mate) until 6 p.m.
4 p.m.: Food trucks and beverages available at Lowcountry Celebration Park in partnership with the Island Rec Center
End of the parade until approximately 8 p.m.: Food trucks, beverages and live music from Groove Town Assault at the park

“Into The Woods Jr.” is a condensed version of the beloved Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine musical specially adapted for young performers. The show promises an enthralling mix of laughter, tears and unexpected twists, as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (of Beanstalk fame) and Rapunzel encounter the iconic Witch and other fairy tale characters on their quest to fulfill their desires. Directed by Emma Kate Dalzell and Millie Gilbreath, both accomplished theater veterans, this production is set to delight audiences of all ages with its clever storytelling and unforgettable musical numbers.

COASTAL DISCOVERY MUSEUM
“Intricate Oceans: Coral in Contemporary Art” features work from seven contemporary artists who are deeply concerned with the health of the coral reefs, the exhibition will explore through their work the environmental pressures facing our oceans.

ART LEAGUE OF HILTON HEAD’S “GOT ART?”
Every ticket holder will receive an original work of art during the live drawing. This year, the drawing will be a hybrid event; attendees can attend in person or via Zoom. The artworks, donated by Art League members, include paintings, drawings, photography, collages, jewelry, ceramics and sculptures. Each is valued at $200 or more. Each ticket costs $100, and 100 tickets are sold. During the drawing, ticket holders will choose a piece of art when their name is called at random.
