A Dairy Queen franchise announced the opening of its 15th location in Hampton Roads.

The area franchisee, Mid Atlantic Dairy Queen, will open a DQ Grill & Chill at 5704 George Washington Memorial Highway in York County’s Grafton Shopping Center in mid-March.

The 1,400-square-foot restaurant has an indoor seating capacity of 55 and an outdoor covered patio that accommodates 40 customers.

A hiring blitz is underway as the store needs 50 employees to fill positions, including assistant manager, shift leaders, cooks and customer service.

Positions are full-time and part-time and starting wages are $13-$18 an hour.

Open interviews will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 1, 2 and 3.
