Historic Locomotive Chugs Through Snow in Northern Colorado

The historic Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014 steam locomotive barreled along snow-covered tracks in northern Colorado on November 26, as a snowstorm dumped nearly a foot of snow in the area.

The 600-ton locomotive first came into service in 1941 and was restored to mark the 150th anniversary of the transcontinental railroad. This video shows it moving north through Brighton, northeast of Denver.

According to the National Weather Service, 10 inches of snow had fallen in Brighton by 7.45 am.

More than two feet of snow was reported in parts of Boulder County, the weather service said. Credit: @merle_ish via Storyful
