This historic turquoise house for sale in Biloxi goes viral on Facebook. Here’s why.

The turquoise house for sale on Claiborne Street has all the comforts of modern life: granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, air conditioning.

But it’s historic — and its age is so celebrated it made the Facebook page For The Love Of Old Houses, which has 4 million followers.

The page posted the house on 141 Claiborne St. in Biloxi on Sunday. It was built in 1940, has 10 foot ceilings, door, window and ceiling moldings and wood blinds. Backyard fencing and an above ground pool make the property a “private oasis,” the post said.

It is also in walking distance to the Gulf of Mexico, casinos and the Biloxi Yacht Club. It has a front porch and swing, updated but original hardwood floors, a back patio and sits on a dirt road.

It has been listed on Zillow for 9 days and has already accumulated 182 comments on Facebook, many of which praise the house’s style and location.

The 1,800 square foot home has four bedrooms and two baths and is listed at $340,000.
