The event marks the first concert to be held at the church in more than 20 years. The event, Tater Bug Tales: Spring Band Music and Stories was organized by the Nacogdoches Historic Sites Division and produced by Steve Hartz ‘honoring the traditions of rural life.’

The program will feature Steve and Sheryl Hartz with Jay White. Members of the church will also participate.

The stories told will recount the 45 years Steve spent operating the General Mercantile and Oldtime String Shop in Downtown Nacogdoches.

“This will be the first of many concerts we hope to have at Zion Hill,” Historic Sites Manager Veronica Amoe said. “We are so grateful for the community partners helping us bring music back. Much like the joint effort behind the restoration project, these concerts will bring people together, and we couldn’t be more excited.”

Tickets will be available starting March 1 for $15 and can be purchased online in person at the Nacogdoches Visitor Center. More information about the concert including parking information and details about the program can be found online here or call 936-560-4441.
