Montgomery Ward, 215 S. Front St.

Montgomery Ward was a downtown fixture in Fremont for nearly half a century. The building it occupied at 215 S. Front St. was originally part of the block-long Jackson Underwear Company that dated back to the late 1800s.  Montgomery Ward was in business here from about 1931 to 1977.  Soon afterwards, the building was razed, and the site has continued to provide downtown parking to this day.
