Hit-and-run near 75th Avenue and West Encanto Boulevard kills 22-year-old man

Phoenix police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run in west Phoenix that killed a 22-year-old man.

Around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Phoenix police say they were called to a report of a crash near 75th Avenue and West Encanto Boulevard that involved a motorcycle and a vehicle. When they arrived, police say they found a 22-year-old man unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Phoenix police named 22-year-old Mario Aguirre as the man who died at the scene.

Aguirre was driving southbound on 75th Avenue and collided with a vehicle turning onto Encanto Boulevard from 75th Avenue, police said.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash was not on the scene when police arrived and has not been identified. Police did not release any identifying information about the driver or car involved.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the Phoenix Police Department or Silent Witness (480-WITNESS).
