Hoboken Spa Diner Location Closes For Now But You Can Still Order

HOBOKEN, NJ – New Jerseyans love their diners, so there was understandable anguish on Facebook this week when one of Hoboken's two diners temporarily shut down — particularly since the Spa Diner is located near the train station and bars. But the establishment, founded in the 1940s, says it's not gone for good; it's just being renovated.

Meanwhile, fans can still order from the diner via GrubHub and Ubereats.

A staffer reached at the diner's phone number Monday night said they're hoping people will order online while they renovate the 74 Hudson St. location. They are working out of various locations, the spokesman said.

They are currently partnering with Grubbs on 418 Washington St. to help.

The restaurant had recently participated in local charity drives.

Earlier this week, they said in a story in TAPInto that the pandemic had played a part in temporarily closing the location. "We have struggled but in the end COVID beat us, we are hopeful to do a big renovation and bring back your favorite diner soon," said owner Sean McGarr.
