I'm Haadiza Ogwude, a trending news reporter for The Enquirer. The past few weeks, I've had the privilege of visiting and reporting on Hofbrauhaus Newport, an iconic brewery celebrating its 20th anniversary in Northern Kentucky.

Although franchise locations exist nationwide, did you know the Newport location was the first ever Hofbrau to open in the United States? I spoke with owner (and Fort Thomas Mayor) Eric Haas, and he discussed the brewery's impact on the region's booming craft beer scene. We also chatted about its connection to the original Hofbrauhaus am Platz bier hall founded nearly 500 years ago in Munich, Germany.
