Hogs will be shorthanded against UAPB on Saturday

Arkansas will be a bit shorthanded this weekend when the Razorbacks play Arkansas-Pine Bluff in Little Rock, coach Sam Pittman said.

Pittman announced after Saturday’s loss to Auburn that safety Jalen Catalon would miss the rest of the season, so his absence was already known. Wednesday, Pittman reiterated that defensive end Markell Utsey (undisclosed) and right tackle Dalton Wagner (finger) both starters, will also miss the game against the Golden Lions.

What wasn’t previously known, though, was the status of wide-receiver-turned-tight end Trey Knox. He’s questionable for Arkansas’ final game before bye week.

“We’re still looking at Trey Knox to see … if that ankle will be healed up enough,” Pittman said.

After having fallen out of favor last year out wide, Knox made the switch to tight end a few weeks ago. He grabbed five passes for 37 yards and a score two weeks ago against Ole Miss.

Arkansas is also likely to have defensive end Tre Williams and defensive back Trent Gordon back in the fold. Gordon played against Rice and Texas in the first two weeks of the season, but not since. He’s likely to return against Pine Bluff

“I think that ankle’s finally feeling better for him. I certainly hope because we recruited him for a reason,” Pittman said.
