Hogslop String Band will kick-off ORNL Federal Credit Union’s (ORNL FCU) Summer Sessions concert event on Saturday, June 18, in Oak Ridge.

Opening for Hogslop String Band will be Bill and the Belles, an Americana string band hailing from East Tennessee.

The Nashville-based Hogslop String Band got their start in 2007. It won several major string band competition. The band began writing their own material in 2017 and their Americana-rooted, genre-crossing sound reflects the group’s personalities. Current members of the Hogslop String Band are Kevin Martin (singer and fiddler), Gabriel Kelley (guitarist, harmonica player, and singer), Will Harrison (mandolin player and singer), Daniel Binkley (banjo player and singer), and Pickle (bassist).

All Summer Sessions concerts are free to the public and will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the amphitheater in A.K. Bissell Park, 1401 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Oak Ridge.

The community is invited to bring their lawn chairs and join their friends and family for an evening of free Americana roots music. Local food truck vendors will also be on-site serving treats and drinks. Stay informed about performances and weather-related cancellations by following the Summer Sessions Facebook page or visiting thesummersessions.com.
