Holby City lining up baby shock for Lofty as Dom's lies are exposed
Holby City is lining up a shock for Lofty when he learns that he's going to be a father – but more than that, he'll also have to wrestle with the knowledge that husband Dom has known about it for a long time.
If you need reminding, Lofty (Lee Mead) had a holiday fling with a woman named Helen who ended up getting pregnant. She later turned up at the hospital looking for him but she soon realised that Lofty was married to Dom (David Ames), and Dom later agreed to keep Helen's pregnancy a secret.
Until tonight (October 22), that is.
Scenes in tonight's upcoming episode will see Helen return to Holby after being involved a car accident – and she can't exactly hide that bump now she's so far along.
Essie starts asking questions which prompts Dom to reveal the truth, but when he urges her to keep it to herself, Essie warns that secrets and lies have put such a strain on his marriage already.
Or course, Lofty will then find out the truth anyway when he sees Helen himself, and he vows to stand by Helen and raise their child together. But where does this leave Dom and Lofty's relationship?
Elsewhere in tonight's jam-packed episode, Ric is going to undergo some risky surgery, which will lead to some familiar faces from the past turning up.
Holby City airs these scenes tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
