Holby City has revisited Zav Duval's tragic death this week, as nasty Cameron Dunn's latest cruel tricks convinced Chloe Godard once and for all that he's not the charming hero he wants people to believe.

The tension between Chloe (Amy Lennox) and Cameron (Nic Jackman) reached a new high tonight (December 8) when they ended up competing for the same job after Chloe's mum Ange Godard (Dawn Steele) told her daughter about a new opening and encouraged her to go for it.

Eavesdropping, Cameron decided that he might throw his own hat in the ring despite being under-qualified for the role. After complaining to Nicky McKendrick (Belinda Owusu) about Chloe, claiming that she thinks she is "so high and mighty", Nicky encouraged Cameron to apply for the job.

Cameron approached sceptical hospital CEO Max McGerry (Jo Martin) and managed to claim an interview slot. Cameron announced to Chloe that he also had an interview, but, aware that Chloe would be the favoured candidate for the job, it became clear that he was going to play dirty to get his own way.

Soon enough, a bottle of whiskey given to a patient as a gift ended up on the desk of Michael Townsend (Elliot Levey), who was conducting the interviews, accompanied by a note reading: "Thanks for the help, C."

Confused Ange asked Chloe why she had given Michael a gift and Chloe immediately knew who the real culprit was, accusing Cameron of trying to make it look like she'd offered a bribe.

Smug Cameron replied: "If this is something that's backfired on you, don't blame me."

Things went from bad to worse for Chloe when the day of the interviews arrived and Cameron got up to give his presentation to the board, only for it to become clear that Cameron had sneakily copied Chloe's interview preparation notes and stolen her presentation content.

Despite Cameron's cruel sabotage, and being interrupted by an emergency with a patient, Chloe went on to successfully complete her interview.

But her hope turned to disappointment when Max let her know that Cameron had secured the job, although Max did appear to hint that she'd be keeping a close eye on Cameron in his new role.

Jubilant Cameron gloated to Chloe that he wouldn't let power go to his head or "make things difficult for you", but Chloe gave him short shrift.

Turning to Donna Jackson (Jaye Jacobs), Chloe admitted that she has realised that Donna's former partner Zav, who passed away earlier this year in a road accident while trying to expose Cameron, had been right about Cameron and his dark behaviour all along.

"Zav was right you know, Donna," Chloe said. "I think we've all sat back and let him fool everyone."

With a growing number of his colleagues starting to suspect that Cameron is up to no good, how much longer can he continue with his dodgy behaviour?

Holby City continues next Tuesday (December 15) at 7.50pm on BBC One.
