Hold your breath, Dallas Cowboys fans.

Quarterback Dak Prescott strained his right calf on the last play of Sunday’s 35-29 win over the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.

Prescott hit CeeDee Lamb for a 35-yard, walk-off touchdown in overtime.

But Prescott struggled to walk off the field unassisted and the Cowboys reported he had strained his right calf moments after the team had returned to the locker room. He’ll have an MRI scan on Monday, after the team returns to Frisco.

Prescott, who was wearing a protective boot on his right foot during his post-game press conference, downplayed the injury.

“Yeah, I just came down funny and that’s what it was and, as I said, we will get it checked out,” he said. “I’ll be fine. Y’all have fun with it.”

Prescott was joking to the media to blow up the news of his injury during the start of the team’s bye week. The Cowboys don’t play again until they travel to Minnesota to play the Vikings on Oct. 31.

Prescott had one of his best games in the NFL in the win, despite an interception and fumble at the goal line.

He finished with 445 yards and three touchdowns on 36 of 51 passing. It’s his sixth-most yards, sixth-most pass attempts, and fifth-most completions.

“Life keeps throwing punches and I’ll keep throwing them back,” Prescott said. “It doesn’t hurt as bad when you score and win the game.”
