Holiday events in Greater Lafayette? We're starting a list and checking it twice

LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Right as the calendar turned to December, multiple holiday-themed events were planned this month for the whole family to enjoy.

Santa will be at the Tippecanoe Mall during its varying holiday hours every day until Dec. 14. The listed holiday hours from Dec. 1 through Dec. 21, for Santa's availability are:

  • Fridays and Saturdays: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.

  • Weekdays: 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.

  • Saturdays: Noon - 6 p.m.

Reservations to take a photo with Santa can be made on the Tippecanoe Mall's website, which listed Dec. 22-24 as now unavailable for appointments. Be sure to continuously check back for Santa's availability.

Legacy Courts will be holding a toy drive and Kicks for Kids giveaway on Dec. 22 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

"We will be collecting new toys and new or gently used shoes until December 20th," the event's Facebook page said. If you would like to be a part of helping make someone's Christmas bright, please drop off your donations at any of the drop sites below!"

The listed drop off locations are listed as follows: HOTWORX; Fresh Factory- Barbershop; Premier Auto Detailing; Legacy Courts; Granite Student Living; Houston Electric; APS; Rigo's Auto Sales; Onyx Styling Salon and West Lafayette Highschool.

The event will take place on Dec. 22 and children and families are encouraged to come by and take any free, needed toys and shoes.

Winter Break camp will begin at McAllister Recreation Center Dec. 22 and will offer a variety of festive activities for children ages 6-12.

"Children participate in a variety of activities, seasonal arts and crafts, and field trips," The City of Lafayette's website states.

Winter Camp will run from Dec. 22 and 27-31, as well as January 3 and 4.

Crasian Brewing Company in Brookston will be hosting a New Year's Eve Pajama Party on Dec. 31 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

"After the year we have all had, who wants to get all dressed up for NYE? Not us! Put on your pajamas and join us for a fun & relaxing evening," the event's Facebook page said.

This event is ticketed and costs $40 per ticket. They can be ordered through the event's Facebook page.

"Your ticket includes appetizers, snacks, party favors, a drink for toasting, and a midnight snack," the Facebook page says. "We will have games and silly prizes and a Pajama Contest with prizes for Funniest, Ugliest, and Most Original."
