HOLIDAY EVENTS: 'Tis the season for Christmas craft fairs

Oct. 27—STAFFORD — Second Congregational Church, at the corner of routes 190 and 30, will host its Holly Bazaar on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Many craft and product vendors will be on site. There also will be a bake sale, white elephant table, raffle baskets, and an Autumn soup lunch.

Ellington

Ellington Congregational Church, 72 Main St., will hold its 60th annual Farmhouse Fair on Nov. 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Nov 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will be rooms full of handmade and homemade gifts, holiday decor, baked goods, and more.

New features this year include an American Colonial Period Broom Squire with demonstrations and products for sale.

The Farmhouse Café offers dine-in or take-out fair favorites, Friday dinner is from 5 to 7 p.m., and Saturday lunch is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The church is accessible to all abilities. Credit cards will be accepted; admission is free.

—St. Luke Church, 141 Maple St., Ellington, will hold its annual Christmas Bazaar on Nov. 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The parish center and church hall will be filled with favorite holiday fare. Free children's activities include professional face painting and a children's-only shopping room with cookie decorating.

Check out gift items from St. Luke crafters, including knit items, hand-crafted gifts, and one-of-a kind Christmas ornaments and décor. The country store will be stocked with pickles, jams, flavored vinegar, mixes, and other items ready to give as gifts.

There also will be homemade baked goods and meals from the kitchen along with gently used linens and jewelry and a tea cup raffle. Admission is free.

Manchester

South United Methodist Church, 1226 Main St., Manchester, will hold its Hi Ho Holiday Fair on Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church building on the corner of Hartford Road and Main Street.

There will be Thanksgiving and Christmas crafts and gifts and homemade goodies.

A luncheon will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

—Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish will hold a Christmas bazaar and tag sale Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Assumption church hall, 27 South Adams St. South, Manchester.

Christmas decor, gifts, jewelry, bake sale, handmade crafts, and basket raffles will be featured.

Admission is free.

Vernon

Trinity Lutheran Church will hold its annual TLC Marketplace Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The church is on the corner of Route 30 and Meadowlark Road in Vernon.

The fair will feature local craft vendors plus the church's attic treasures, bake sale, gift baskets, and cafe.

The church donates most of its proceeds to community services such as the Tri-Town Shelter, Hockanum Valley Community Council, Tri-Town Pantry, and Cornerstone Foundation as well as national and worldwide charities.
