HOLLAND TWP. — Those looking to get into the holiday spirit (and shopping) this weekend can visit The Shops at Westshore on Saturday, Dec. 4.

The center's holiday market will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — with a visit from Santa Claus between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Personal photos are allowed for a donation, and a portion of proceeds from the event will go toward educating girls in Uganda.

The event is organized by Ebony and Ivory Markets, a collaboration between Ruth Doane of Holland Town Center's Artisan Markt (formerly Macatawa Marketplace) and Shutaveya Ward of 70x7 Life Recovery.

The Artisan Markt launched in July 2020 with a couple dozen vendors and a single food truck. In the six months that followed, the monthly event grew to over 70 vendors with live music, pumpkins and several hundred customers — plus Friday night shopping.

However, the event was cancelled in October and November, and may switch permanently to The Shops at Westshore next year under Ebony and Ivory Markets. Details are expected in 2022.

In the meantime, shoppers can browse vendors on Saturday between GNC and The Indi Suites. Products available include jewelry, baked goods, essential oil, clothing, crafts, crystals and more.
