Holiday season is here in Fort Collins. Try these 18 things to get you in the spirit.

Hello all,

Happy December! I hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving and are ready to jump feet first into the next holidays. Here's what to know ...

... This week

A December to remember

Holiday season is officially here. Don't believe me? Head out on a self-guided holiday lights drive, go on a festive mall walk or hit up one of Fort Collins' various winter markets — then we'll talk. Try these and about 15 other holiday things to do in Fort Collins and beyond this month. But don't lollygag. December arrived in a flash and will be gone just as fast.

Some new things on the rise

November was a slow month on Fort Collins' food and drink scene, but some new offerings are a-brewin' and a-bakin'. Fort Collins saw the addition of Retreat Bakery Bar, a bakeshop and coffee bar, as well as news from an established artisan coffee shop in Old Town. Things are on the rise and on the move in the Choice City, apparently.

No more NewWestFest

It's the end of an era in Fort Collins. Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest, the annual music festival that's taken over Old Town, was discontinued late last month, according to an announcement from Bohemian Foundation. The festival, like many others, was hampered by pandemic-related cancellations over past two years and finally decided to call it quits. That's not the end for some of Bohemian Nights' other music offerings, though.

This week's must-see

Where are all my curious cats? If you're like me, you crave information, especially about the community where you live, work and play. I'm lucky enough to work in the information business — finding fun stories, answering your questions and learning something new about Fort Collins almost every day. Reporting on this city takes time, money and resources, though, and The Coloradoan relies on our subscribers. For Cyber Week, which runs through Monday, we have a great introductory digital offer for new subscribers. For $1 you can get six months of unlimited digital access to Coloradoan.com. So if you haven't subscribed, try out this screaming deal. Your support helps keep this information train on the tracks.

That's it for me this week, friends.
