Are you holiday shopping in Centre County? How to participate in Small Business Saturday

Holiday shoppers looking to support small Centre County businesses during the shopping season will have plenty of opportunities during Small Business Saturday on Nov. 25.

Small Business Saturday was founded by American Express in 2010 and officially cosponsored by the Small Business Administration since 2011. It’s a day to celebrate and support small businesses. Many participating businesses will offer special discounts, promotions or free goodies throughout the day.

Downtown Bellefonte Inc. will host a Shop Small Crawl on Saturday to encourage shoppers to support local businesses. Special promotions and discounts will be available at many participating shops and restaurants.

Shoppers can purchase a Shop Small Crawl tote bag for $12 at the Downtown Bellefonte Inc. welcome table inside the former Confer’s Jewelers storefront, 100 E. High St., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Throughout the day, DBI will give away gift cards donated by participating businesses of the Shop Small Crawl.

A limited number of Shop Small Crawl Totes will also be available at Belle Mercantile on Nov. 25.

From Nov. 25 through Dec. 17, customers can visit the participating locations to earn unique pins for the Shop Small Crawl tote bag. Once a minimum of 15 pins are collected, customers will be entered into a grand prize drawing for a chance to win a $250 #LoveBFT gift card.
